Location

This is a hybrid position. You must be in the Toronto, Canada office, three days a week. 

About the team

Kinaxis is looking for a talented candidate to work within the Machine Learning R&D team. The team is responsible for applying machine learning algorithms to develop intelligent supply chains. The uniqueness of the team is that it performs at the intersection of technology and real business problems. You will contribute to the product that delights customers world-wide!

This is a full-time, 8 or 12-month position, starting May 2025. 

To be eligible for a Co-op or Intern position at Kinaxis, you must either be currently enrolled in full-time education or, if you are a recent/upcoming graduate, your graduation date must be within 12 months of the placement end date.

What you will do

• As an intern ML developer, you are passionate about shipping large-scale software systems in an agile environment but can balance longer term issues such as maintainability, scalability and quality
• Help developing scalable ML and AI solutions out of the approved client prototypes
• Participate in scrum teams developing ML products for demand sensing in different industry verticals

What we are looking for

• Currently enrolled in, or recently graduated from, a Bachelor or Masters of Science in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
• Excellent software engineering skills
• Good understanding of machine learning algorithms, data structures, pipelines and transformations
• Proficiency in Python and object-oriented programming
• Capable of processing large data with pandas and PySpark (e.g. querying, transforming, joining, cleaning, etc.), with some experience in numpy and sklearn
• Ability to work in Linux environments and public clouds with containerization technologies like Docker, Kubernetes, Helm and Argo workflows
• You enjoy solving puzzles and troubleshooting issues

Things that would definitely help

• Experience with training of large-scale Machine Learning models and building data pipelines

• Experience building and deploying large-scale Machine Learning systems

• Experience with data modelling, data streaming, data transformation and modern data stores
