CoverMyMeds’ Technology is looking for a Lead Data Modeler to join our Data Engineering team. Of note, our Data Engineering Team is a highly technical group of results driven Engineers, Analysts and Architects focused on providing our internal and external clients with high quality, repeatable and scalable data solutions.  Together with our various business units, the work our Data Engineering team does ultimately helps get more people the medicine they need to live healthier lives.  

  

What You'll Do: 

The Lead Data Modeler will design, develop, and maintain data models that support transactional data management, analytical data warehouses and data marts.  The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of healthcare data along with expertise in data architecture, database design, and data warehousing, ensuring that data is structured efficiently for high performance and scalability. 

 

Position Description: 

  • Design and implement conceptual, logical, and physical data models for healthcare applications, analytics, and interoperability. 

  • Develop and maintain FHIR-based data models and support integration with FHIR servers. 

  • Design and manage analytical data models that power dashboards while ensuring cost-efficient data ingress and egress. 

  • Collaborate with product engineering, database administrators, data engineers, and business analysts to understand data requirements and optimize data architecture. 

  • Support ETL processes and data pipelines to ensure efficient data integration and transformation. 

  • Conduct data profiling and quality assessments to ensure accuracy, consistency, and integrity. 

  • Document metadata, data lineage, and data dictionaries for healthcare data models. 

  • Implement data governance best practices to ensure regulatory compliance 

 

Candidate must be based in the metropolitan area of our hub city Columbus, OH. Position will primarily allow for remote working, but candidate must reside in the Columbus, OH area and be willing to come into the office from time to time for key meetings and face time.

Minimum Qualifications: 

Degree or equivalent and typically requires 10+ years of relevant experience. Less years required if has relevant Master’s or Doctorate qualifications. 

 

Education: 

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field. 

 

Critical Skills: 

  • 10+ years of technical and professional experience 

  • 5+ years of experience in data modeling and database design, with a focus on healthcare data. 

  • 5+ years of experience and expertise in FHIR (Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources) and HL7 standards. 

  • Experience working with FHIR servers (e.g., Azure FHIR, Google Healthcare API, HAPI FHIR). 

  • 5+ years of experience transactional data management, data warehousing, ETL processes, and data pipeline development. 

  • Experience with data governance, security, and regulatory compliance in healthcare. 

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail. 

      

Preferred Skills 

  • Experience with cloud-based healthcare data solutions  

  • Exhibit a strong sense of urgency and ownership for task/project completion. 

  • Highly adept at working collaboratively across multiple business and technical functions to achieve results.

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. Our Base Pay Range for this position

$142,700 - $237,900
