Job Description:

POSITION SUMMARY

The essential function of a Clinical Data Analyst at Marshall is to translate data into meaningful and actionable information that aligns with organizational and strategic goals. You help the organization achieve goals by extracting data, creating reports and analyses, and developing systems to collect, house and display data.

Critical thinking, creative problem solving, willingness to learn, and a flexible mindset are more integral for success in this position than previous experience with a particular process or program. You will independently perform data extraction and manipulation, data visualization, basic statistical analyses, and data presentation. You will assist in managing and maintaining databases, interfaces and other systems including user/role securities, development of documentation/training materials, troubleshooting and upgrades. You will need to be comfortable learning new methodologies, tools, and techniques. You should be equally comfortable working independently and collaboratively.

This can be a hybrid position, but in-person attendance for meetings and some other on-site time is expected.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Licensure/Certification:

  • BA/BS Degree or related experience required.

  • Training and experience with Epic preferred; Epic Caboodle certifications required within first 3 months.

Knowledge/Experience:

  • Experience in data extraction (SQL, Epic Reporting Tools, Midas, etc.), analysis (Excel, R, etc.), and presentation (Excel, Statit, Power BI, Tableau, etc.) required, preferably in a healthcare setting.

  • Demonstrated ability to transform raw data into meaningful information.

  • Ability to appropriately utilize statistics and statistical process control methodologies.

  • Knowledge of quality assessment and performance improvement concepts preferred.

  • Familiarity with risk/severity adjustment methodologies preferred.

  • Must possess strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel including pivot tables, graphs, and advanced formulas.

  • Working knowledge of relational databases, SQL reporting tools and HL7.

  • Executive level presentation skills and experience preferred.
