Responsibilities:
· Lead and oversee the development and execution of data science projects, from problem formulation to solution implementation, ensuring high-quality deliverables and alignment with business objectives.
· Define the technical roadmap and vision for data science initiatives, working closely with stakeholders to identify opportunities, prioritize projects, and drive innovation.
· Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of data scientists, fostering their growth and development while ensuring the successful delivery of projects.
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business stakeholders, data engineers, and IT teams, to identify data requirements, integrate data science solutions into existing systems, and optimize data infrastructure.
· Design and implement advanced statistical models, algorithms, and machine learning techniques to extract insights, drive actionable recommendations, and solve complex business problems.
· Stay up to date with the latest advancements in data science, machine learning, and artificial intelligence, and guide the team in adopting cutting-edge techniques and methodologies.
· Present complex findings and insights to executive stakeholders in a clear and compelling manner, influencing data-driven decision-making at the highest levels of the organization.
· Lead the evaluation and adoption of new technologies, tools, and methodologies to enhance our data science capabilities and drive innovation.
· Collaborate with external partners, research institutions, and industry experts to stay at the forefront of data science advancements and explore potential collaborations.
· Analyse large, structured, and unstructured datasets to uncover trends, patterns, and insights that drive business strategies and optimizations.
Must-Have Skills:
· Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, or a related field. A master's degree is a plus.
· Extensive experience in data science, statistical analysis, and machine learning, with a proven track record of delivering impactful solutions to complex business problems.
· Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or Java for data manipulation, statistical analysis, and machine learning.
· In-depth knowledge of advanced statistical modelling techniques, experimental design, and hypothesis testing.
· Expertise in machine learning techniques, including deep learning, ensemble methods, time series analysis, and reinforcement learning.
· Strong understanding of cloud computing platforms, specifically Snowflake, AWS, and Azure, and their data services.
· Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically, analyse complex data, and propose innovative solutions.
· Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
· Proven experience in leading and managing data science projects and teams, ensuring timely delivery and successful outcomes.
· Ability to drive the strategic direction of data science initiatives, set technical standards, and guide the adoption of emerging technologies.
Desirable Skills:
· Experience with natural language processing (NLP) and text mining techniques.
· Familiarity with advanced optimization techniques and operations research.
· Knowledge of causal inference methods and experimental design.
· Experience with data governance, data privacy, and compliance frameworks (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
· Understanding of cloud security and data protection best practices.
· Familiarity with cloud-based data processing, data lakes, and serverless architectures.
· Strong publication record and active involvement in the data science community.
· Proficiency in SQL and experience working with relational databases and big data platforms (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) for data extraction and manipulation.
· Understanding of cloud security and data protection best practices
· Interest in ESG and sustainability in general, with an understanding of ESG frameworks such as EDCI, TCFD, SFDR, etc.
