Responsibilities

When a user tries new software, they expect it to be intuitive and run smoothly. Functionality, reliability, and user experience are key to successful software development—and that means rigorous testing. That’s why we need you, an experienced test engineer who knows how to thoroughly test software and work with developers to make sure our team releases the best software possible.   

 

As a test engineer on our team, you’ll use your experience to work with engineers to evaluate software developed for our nation’s defense create a test plan with test cases based on user stories. Using automated and manual processes, you’ll generate data and implement the test cases to observe how the software performs, then document the results and communicate defects to the development team so they can start improving the tool.  

 

You’ll automate continuous security and performance testing and monitor the health of large data systems.  This is an opportunity to supercharge your skills by writing the code to test. You’ll also broaden your experience in large scale systems and gain skills in new areas such as automation, cloud computing, and Splunk while sharing your testing experience with your team.

Qualifications

You Have:

  • 2+ years of experience as a test engineer developing or executing test scripts and analyzing results while performing system testing
  • Experience creating scenarios that support the creation of test cases and procedures
  • Experience using and developing scripts in Python and creating regular expressions for searching data sets
  • Experience integrating new and old technologies into existing network configurations and test beds
  • Ability to develop, build, and test multiple lab environments using various telephony and networking hardware following formal testing methods
  • Ability to manage discrepancy reports identified during testing
  • Ability to set priorities and rearrange schedules to address unexpected issues
  • Ability to perform baseline, unit or integration, component, and regression level testing in support of research and development efforts
  • TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph
  • Bachelor's degree in Math, Science, Engineering, Statistics, or Engineering Management 

Nice if You Have:

  • Knowledge of Jenkins or other Continuous Integration Frameworks
  • Knowledge of PyTest automation frameworks
  • Knowledge of developing and building multiple lab environments
  • Knowledge of SPLUNK
  • Knowledge of working in a Linux environment
  • Knowledge of working in an Agile environment 

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required.

 

 

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $115,143.26 /year in our lowest geographic market up to $165,143.26 /year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Dependent on the position offered, sign-on payments, relocation, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of full paid medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
