ROLE OVERVIEW

We are looking for a Commodity Research Analyst to join our Fundamental Commodities Team. The primary objective of the team is to research commodity investment ideas based on market fundamentals and data analysis. Successful analysts are given greater responsibility and input into the investment decisions.

 

The role entails developing tools, performing market analysis, and staying on top of market research and insights. The ideal candidate would be a mid-level fundamental researcher with in-depth experience in one or multiple commodities – excluding Oil or Ags. Strong communication skills are a must as there will be daily interaction with quants and traders.

JOB DESCRIPTION: COMMODITY RESEARCH ANALYST – FULL TIME

  • Acquire, catalog, maintain, and interpret commodity supply and demand data
  • Perform statistical and economic research on commodity data
  • Carry out analysis to understand market fundamentals
  • Generate new ideas for additional research
  • Work closely with the investment team

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a Master's degree with concentration in computer science, math, physics, engineering, or other related quantitative/analytical field from a top GPA college/university
  • Outstanding problem solving skills
  • Strong understanding of financial modeling using python
  • Comfortable using Excel spreadsheets and VBA
  • Knowledge of statistical concepts and regression analysis
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Experience in one of the following commodity sectors: Power, Gas, Metals, or Softs
