Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership & Development:
Manage and mentor a multidisciplinary team of data analysts and engineers.
Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability within the team.
Drive professional development within the team, ensuring both personal growth and alignment with business needs in a dynamic growth environment.
Analytics & Insights:
Partner with cross-functional teams (e.g., Product, Marketing, Finance) to provide actionable insights into customer behavior, ARPU, churn, MAU, and other key metrics.
Lead the design and implementation of predictive models for improving customer retention, upsell opportunities, and hardware-to-software conversion rates.
Data Strategy & Governance:
Partner with senior leaders to define and implement a cohesive data strategy, ensuring alignment with Arlo's subscription and hardware business goals.
Establish data governance practices to ensure data quality, security, and compliance with privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
Data Engineering:
Oversee the development and maintenance of scalable data pipelines and storage solutions to support real-time analytics and machine learning initiatives.
Ensure the integration of data sources from hardware devices, mobile apps, subscription platforms, and third-party services.
Business Impact:
Translate complex data into clear insights, narratives and recommendations for senior leadership.
Contribute to understanding of levers to drive business outcomes, such as improved subscription conversions, reduced churn, and enhanced operational efficiency.
Qualifications:
Leadership:
5+ years managing data teams, preferably in a b2c technology company with hardware and/or subscription components.
Proven ability to lead data analysts and data engineers in a unified strategy.
Technical Skills:
Strong proficiency with SQL and at least one scripting language (e.g. Python).
Proficiency in advanced analytics and visualization tools (Tableau, Databricks)
Hands-on expertise in data engineering frameworks and tools (e.g., ETL pipelines, Snowflake, AWS/GCP/Azure, Airflow).
Domain Expertise:
Strong understanding of metrics critical to hardware-linked subscription services: ARPU, MAU, churn, customer segmentation, and cohort analysis.
Familiarity with IoT data ecosystems, cloud-connected hardware, or similar domains is a significant advantage.
Preferred Qualifications:
Working knowledge of statistical and machine learning techniques.
Ability to align data strategies with organizational goals and customer value.
Demonstrated success in driving measurable business impact through data-driven initiatives.
Strong communication and storytelling abilities to translate technical insights into business value.
Collaborative mindset for working with cross-functional teams.
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
The pay range for this position reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries at commencement of employment and is expected to be between $153,000 – 200,000/year, plus equity. However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including location, role, job-related knowledge, skills, relevant education and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including bonus, equity, and a full range of benefits. Details of all benefits will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
