In a world where digitalization is constantly advancing, the requirements for efficient data processing and sound data-based decision-making are also increasing - especially in the areas of mobility and industry. Artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) are important building blocks here. At IAV, we develop innovative solutions to apply precisely these technologies in the automotive industry. To strengthen our team, we are looking for a committed student for a master's thesis in the field of AI engineering with a focus on anomaly detection.
Your Tasks:
- You develop and implement AI-driven applications for digitalization and automation.
- You support the analysis, evaluation and further development of methods for detecting anomalies in time series.
- You will work with complex data sets to support development processes in the automotive sector
- You evaluate and present the latest technologies and methods, including frameworks, libraries and tools and support the automation of processes in the AI environment, including AI training.
- You will help with the creation and provision of basic applications, templates and tools for AI projects.
- You will contribute to the design of user workflows for automated AI applications and work with various departments to understand business challenges and develop customized solutions for data analysis.
Necessary Skills:
- Ongoing Master's degree in computer science, mathematics, data science or a comparable degree program
- Sound knowledge of statistics and machine learning as well as advanced programming skills, especially in Python
- Basic understanding of software development
- Enthusiasm for software development, ML and AI
- Proactive hands-on mentality and ability to work independently
- Fluency in English or German to at least C1 level
Desired Skills:
- Experience with ML libraries such as scikit-learn, TensorFlow or PyTorch
- Knowledge in the use of optimization frameworks (e.g. optuna, Ray Tune)
- Practical experience with Git and cloud technologies (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes)
- Knowledge of the use and application of machine learning locally and in the cloud
- Interdisciplinary thinking and agile mindset
Remuneration is based on our collective wage and salary agreement. The final thesis is remunerated with a monthly salary of EUR 979.
