The Media, Effectiveness & Insights team at the Center of Expertise (CoE) Brand, Marketing & Communications is looking for a Data Analytics Expert to drive and maintain the data requirements needed to transform NL market reports and accountable for the design and development of best in class marketing analytical solutions.

As a Data Analyst, you have a fantastic opportunity to shape our new reporting landscape within the CoE Communications, Marketing & Brand. You will need excellent communication and influencing skills to bring multiple and varied stakeholders together, as well as project management skills to handle dependencies and drive a timely delivery of data in line with the project roadmap.

The team

As Data Analytics Expert you’ll join the Media, Effectiveness & Insights team and report into the Head of Media, Effectiveness & Insights. The team consists of 1 lead and 7 experts, of which 4 media experts, 2 insights expert and 1 analytics expert – you!

You will be accountable for the design and development of best in class marketing analytical solutions, leveraging or recommending a variety of tools and techniques to aid in answering important business challenges such as determining & communicating the value of marketing, identifying long-short term impact of marketing and unpacking the causalities.

Roles and responsibilities

  • Liaise and build strong relationships with key stakeholders to understand business requirements, consult with them on relevant KPIs, agree standardisation principles where appropriate and recommend the most fit-for-purpose data solutions to answer business questions

  • Drive delivery and maintenance of Marketing Mix Modelling program (MMM) in collaboration with broader media, effectiveness & insights team.

  • Accountable for ensuring MMM program aligns to global standards and output is clear and insightful

  • Take ownership of the data delivery roadmap in close cooperation with the team lead, defining and prioritising business requirements in line with stakeholder needs and data dependencies.

  • Support design, build and maintenance of timely, insightful, and engaging reports, self-service dashboards as well as ad-hoc analysis to provide measurement of our marketing activities performance , with the objective of driving informed decision-making.

  • Identify, request, and manage data requirements for changes and new value-adding data sources.

  • Have good understanding of the paid media activities and proactively identify potential data solutions to check the data robustness in liaison with media colleagues.

  • Work with aggregated sources of information about consumers, competitors and market to support the business with relevant information for making strategic decisions.

  • Design custom research projects to answer specific business objectives and derive actionable reports and presentations

How to succeed

  • Flexible, likes to explore, can handle changes, and not yet set project boundaries.

  • Good at stakeholder management, understanding ING organisation to be able to maximise impact.

  • Experience with media planning & buying, either on advertiser, agency, publisher or tech side.

  • Experience with data orientated marketing technology e.g Adobe Real-Time CDP and digital attribution models.

  • Experience with site analytics and reporting tools e.g Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, Looker Studio, Power BI & Cognos.

  • Familiarity with CRM and marketing automation tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot).

  • Proven experience of structuring and solving complex business problems using data and technology

  • Excellent understanding of data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and their impact on digital marketing

  • Experience with statistical modelling and/or understanding of methodology e.g. linear regression.

Who are you?

  • Bachelor or Master degree in marketing or other relevant degree

  • Minimal 5 years’ professional experience in data analytics, data science and technology

  • Ability to engage with technical and non-technical users to gather, understand and document business data requirements and create detailed level design documents

  • Proven experience of structuring and solving complex business problems using data and technology

  • Some marketing and communications knowledge.

  • Strong team player with excellent interpersonal, communication and influencing skills.

  • Data driven attitude: true data curiosity and the ability to derive new insights.

  • Strong multitasking, accuracy and prioritizing skills in fast paced environment.

  • Shows initiative, is pro-active and self-starting, and is a resourceful problem-solver.

  • Excellent level in English spoken and written.

  • Creative approach to problem solving; always looking for improvements.
