What will your typical day look like?
As a Data Engineer on our Innovation Centre of Excellence team, you will collaborate with teams across the Strategy, Risk & Transactions business to discover and deliver data-driven innovations that transform the way we work and deliver value to clients. In this role, you will:
- Support the development of analytically driven POCs and tools through discovery, data preparation, development planning and execution, and communication to key stakeholders
- Collaborate with diverse teams: Engage with senior leaders, advisory practitioners, as well as global IT delivery teams including front-end developers, back-end developers, and business analysts to refine and drive solution requirements.
- Prototype and pilot solutions: Utilize insights from brainstorming sessions with practitioners across various offerings to develop innovative prototypes and pilot projects, pushing boundaries to explore new solution avenues.
- Transition to production: Guide the transition of validated prototypes into fully-fledged production systems, ensuring robustness and scalability of the solutions.
- Ensure compliance and certification: Focus on creating detailed architectural documentation to ensure that all solutions meet the stringent standards required for certification by Deloitte before going live.
- Continuous improvement and feedback incorporation: Actively seek and integrate feedback throughout the innovation lifecycle to enhance the functionality and user experience of the solutions.
- Lead sprint planning conversations: Engage in effective communication, ensuring that all stakeholders are aligned and informed about the project statuses, challenges, and successes.
- Mentor and lead: Provide leadership and mentorship to less experienced team members, helping them to grow their skills and contribute more effectively to project goals.
Stay updated and innovate: Keep abreast of the latest developments in technologies and methodologies within your domain to continually innovate and improve the solutions offered by the team.
About the team
The Strategy, Risk & Transactions Innovation COE is a dedicated team of innovators focused on ideating, incubating, accelerating and enabling new solutions (e.g. new client offerings and assets such as Gen AI RAG solutions, analytical dashboards, etc.) to address our clients’ most pressing challenges.
Strategy, Risk & Transactions is an end-to-end strategic advisory practice, enabling our C-suite clients to make informed, robust decisions and strategic choices. It integrates the full scale of Deloitte's M&A capabilities, consolidates Climate & Sustainability advisory capabilities, and tightens the connection between strategy development and risk management to assist clients with navigating uncertainty and change.
Enough about us, let’s talk about you
You bring the following:
- Deep familiarity with Azure Data Stack, including Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Azure SQL
- Proven experience in ETL application development and design, with a minimum of 5 years in a similar role
- Strong expertise in building Gen AI RAG solutions using Azure Open AI and AI Search
- Practical knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, Azure DevOps, and Git
- Experience with full stack development, including Azure Web Apps and infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform
- Understanding of Azure authentication methods and cybersecurity best practices
- Ability to lead and mentor a team of developers in achieving project deliverables
- Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging effectively with multiple stakeholders and leading team discussions
- Working knowledge of Power BI or Tableau
- Familiarity with Microsoft Power Automate is a bonus
- Experience with offshore project delivery is considered an asset
- A university degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
Total Rewards
The salary range for this position is $85,000 - $156,000, and individuals may be eligible to participate in our bonus program.
