Position Overview: You will be working with agile cross functional software development teams developing cutting age software to solve a significant problem in the data and analytics space. This hire will have experience building large scale long running complex data systems involving multiple cross functional teams and stakeholders.  The ideal candidate will be excited about working on new product development, is comfortable pushing the envelope and challenging the status quo, sets high standards for him/herself and the team, and works well with ambiguity.

Your Impact: 

  • Own and develop data engineering architecture, design and implementation of big data platforms and analytics solutions in cloud or hybrid to empower customers to solve problems through self-service frameworks 
  • Develop and coordinate cloud architecture across diverse areas including application development, identity and access management, network, and data management, and security 
  • Conceptualize and implement foundational data models, Data Lake, ETL pipelines and curated layer servicing multiple reporting platforms 
  • Advise clients and internal teams on leading cloud practices and architectural approaches and define technical direction and roadmap for data projects while managing the implementation and technical solutions 
  • Act as a subject matter expert to leadership for technical guidance, solution design and industry best practices related to data architecture and migration patterns 
  • Be a technical leader to junior engineers, ensure the team is being challenged, expose your team to new opportunities, while still being able to deliver ambitious goals. 
  • Keep current on data engineering and data visualization technology trends, evaluate, work on proof-of-concept and make recommendations on cloud technologies  
  • Work with stakeholders including the leadership, product, customer teams to support their data infrastructure needs while assisting with data-related technical issues 

What You Bring: 

  • 5+ years of Data Architecture experience and 10+ years of total experience working in partnership with large data sets  
  • Solid experience, preferably as a lead or an architect, designing and implementing Data Warehouse Architectures, OLAP technologies, data modeling, star/snowflake-schemas, Change Data Capture and BI visualization 
  • Experience building data solutions within any of the major cloud platforms using Postgres, Informatica, Redshift, Tableau and other similar services and tools 
  • Advanced SQL and programming experience with Python and/or Spark 
  • Experience or demonstrated understanding with real-time data streaming tools like Kafka, Kinesis or any similar tools 
  • Hands-on experience with big data ETL technologies like Spark; and experience working with query engines like Presto, Snowflake, or other open-source big data Query & ETL engines. 
  • Advanced SQL and programming experience with Python and/or Scala 
  • Great problem-solving capabilities, troubleshooting data issues and experience in stabilizing big data systems 
  •  Strong business acumen, critical thinking, and ability to work cross functionally through collaboration with engineering and business partners. 
  •  Excellent communication and presentation skills as you will be regularly interacting with stakeholders and engineering leadership. 
  •  Bachelor’s or master's in quantitative disciplines such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics, Information Systems, or other scientific fields. 
  • Nice to Have: Experience working with query engines like Presto, Druid, or Snowflake and multi-dimensional OLAP cube  
  • Nice to Have: Certification in one of the cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure)
