We are looking for a Research Analyst to join the Grid Edge research team within Wood Mackenzie’s Power & Renewables practice. The Grid Edge team consists of leading analysts covering some of the most cutting-edge topics in the energy transition, including transportation and building electrification, microgrids, distributed energy resource participation in energy markets, demand flexibility, and grid modernization. Our research and thought leadership inform the strategies of key players throughout the energy industry, driving innovative business models while hastening the energy transition.
The analyst will contribute to the team’s coverage of demand-side flexibility in Asia, with particular focus on the commercial and industrial (C&I) segment. Research topics will include energy solutions that C&I players are pursuing, such as through behind-the-meter solar, storage, natural gas, load control, and microgrid technologies. Topics may also include transport and heating electrification, and the data center sector. The analyst will establish and maintain relationships with key C&I players, utilities, developers, technology providers and investors, to stay at the forefront of industry developments. Through hands-on research they will publish reports, develop and maintain data sets and forecasts, and provide critical intelligence that informs the strategies of industry stakeholders. The analyst will also work closely with Wood Mackenzie’s Asia Pacific power team to integrate their research into its regional power models.
Experience in the power sector is required, and ideally familiarity with C&I energy demand and procurement. Strong research, writing, and English speaking skills are also required. You must be someone who thrives on writing and editing high-quality reports, with a knack for gathering and then distilling significant amounts of information into focused, actionable insights.
