Intern 2025 - Data Science - Planning & Operation

As a  intern of SMAI Planning & Operations, you will be a key member of a multi-functional team responsible for developing and growing Micron’s methods and systems for extracting new insight for our expanding data streams. You will be collaborating with data scientists, data engineers, solution architecture and IT teams to craft and implement systems.

The intern program aims to enable and improve smart manufacturing operation efficiency and analysis systems, including but not limited to, OEE systems, manufacturing Remote Operation Center (war room), equipment deviation management systems, and statistical process integrated engineering systems. These applications strive to provide operation, planning, processing and equipment team with state-of-the-art data science concept to actively productive efficiency in the manufacturing process. 

Primary Responsibilities

• Knowledge in Cloud based data engineering and Machine Learning Models
• Knowledge in building APIs for application integration.
• Resolve transformation requirements and develop processes to bring structured and unstructured data from the source to a new physical Data Model
• Experience working with chatbot, large language model (LLM) is a plus.
• Familiar with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) solution
• Data Analysis and Validation skills, especially in Angular v16, TypeScript, Tableau, SQL, big Query and Python, Vertex AI.
• Familiar with LLM, Langchain, chatbot, Transformer, Prompting engineering.

Minimum Requirements

• Knowledge and experience in Operations Research and optimization algorithm strongly preferred.
• Knowledge in machine learning, deep learning, reinforcement learning preferred.
• Strong problem-solving skills with logical approach
• Masters/Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, other technical disciplines, or equivalent professional work experience
