Roles and Responsibilities:

NIO is currently seeking a Software Engineer – Intern position to join our small but fast-growing team. You will be working as part of AI Research and application development team.

• Work closely with Product Managers, architecture, and security engineering teams across regions.
• Independently work on AI research projects, building AI Automation tools using LLM and APIs.
• Work in a global team environment to develop an enterprise class web application working with teams in China.
• You must be a problem solver, a fast learner, comfortable wearing many hats, improving team working processes, code quality, tool, and technology adoption.
• Having fluency in written and spoken Mandarin language is a plus.

Qualifications:

• B.S. or higher studies in Computer Science (or equivalent experience) having solid and hands on full stack application development experience with scripting and web technology.
• Deep understanding in AI LLM Models, APIs and building AI Automation tools
• Solid experience in building/integrating to Web Services/API and Web Technologies
• Experience using mobile first design to build responsive applications across a variety of browsers and devices using modern CSS3 techniques.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript / ES6 / NodeJS, including DOM manipulation and the JavaScript object model, HTML5 features.
• Experience with common front-end development tools such as Babel, Webpack, NPM, etc.
• Experience working with React/NextJS/Express frameworks.
• Experience in building applications using Python or Golang.
• Solid understanding of web standards, cross-browser compatibility, accessibility, and SEO.
• Experience with SDLC using Git (hub/labs), forks, pull requests and understanding branching/merging.
• Experience with CI/CD workflow.
• Experience with Doctor / K8S is a plus.
• Experience with database programming either MySQL or MongoDB.
• Excellent team, interpersonal skills written and verbal Mandarin/English skills.
• Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle and familiarity with modern Agile development methodologies, Test Driven Development and working knowledge of JIRA/Confluence.

Compensation:

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $38.00 - $46.00.

• Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
