In-Line Inspection senior data scientist.

Responsible for the models used in detection, identification, classification, and regression of pipeline features. Prototypes new methodologies and improves on old ones to ensure TDW remains a trusted pipeline services provider. Responsible for the design/development, modification, and implementation of models for detection, identification, classification, and regression.

Key Responsibilities

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Meet with stakeholders to define solutions
  • Collaborate heavily with other Data Scientists, Software, Mechanical, Electrical, Operations, and other departments to creates solutions to Inline-Inspection problems
  • Design, build and deploy software in a production environment
  • Direct and collaborate on problems of varying complexity with support from other engineers
  • Development of models/software from: research, concept, design, unit testing, code reviews, to life cycle support
  • Propose and implement performance optimizations and scaling strategies
  • Review existing models and propose improvements
  • Requires annotation, cleaning, and technical support for any related data utilized while developing software/models
  • Estimate development durations and meet deadlines
  • Plan and track projects using Agile methodology and designated project software
  • Represent TDW at industry events

Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Physics, Applied Mathematics, Data Science, Computer Science or related field or equivalent industry experience
  • 5-10 years experience with object-oriented programming, test driven development, and software development life cycle 
  • 0-3 years experience with MS Visual Studio development environment 
  • 0-3 years experience with C++
  • 5-10 years experience with Python
  • 5-10 years experience with Regression Analysis
  • 5-10 years experience with Signal Processing
  • 5-10 years experience with Machine Learning Models for detection/classification

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Good Customer Service Skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with Python, specifically PyTorch, Tensorflow, Boost, Neural Networks, and/or Scikit-learn
  • Firm grasp of data visualization of signal/sensor (non-tabular) data 
  • Filtering/Signal Processing as well as simulation of signal data is preferred
  • Understanding of In-Line Inspection Technologies, such as EMAT or Ultrasonic is preferred
