Manager Business & Data Analyst

Introduction to role:

The Manager Business & Data Analyst is an exciting opportunity to be part of the Strategic Data Management & Information Delivery team at Alexion. As a Manager, Business & Data Analyst, you will leverage your analytical expertise to perform data analysis, address and resolve data-related issues, and ensure data quality. You will play a critical role in dashboards/KPIs quality check, conducting ad-hoc analytics, and performing daily quality checks to ensure the accuracy of data insights. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet diverse data requirements and deliver actionable insights, you will act as a liaison between business and IT to facilitate the implementation of changes to data pipelines and support business teams through the development of custom reports.

Accountabilities:

• Perform data analysis to extract and align data with business requirements.

• Conduct root cause analysis for data-related issues and propose resolutions.

• Monitor data quality, identify inconsistencies or missing data, and implement remediation efforts.

• Implement and maintain logical data mappings, models, schemas, and structures to support analytics and reporting.

• Work multi-functionally with IT team to implement the physical data model and validate and document the results with test scenarios.

• Work with multi-functional teams to understand data requirements and deliver solutions.

• Support business teams by addressing data-related queries and developing custom ad-hoc reports.

• Partner with reporting teams to document, prioritize, and meet data requirements, enabling accurate and actionable insights.

• Act as a liaison between business and IT, ensuring alignment and implementing changes to data pipelines.

• Validate dashboards and reports daily to ensure KPI accuracy and quality.

• Collaborate with the Incentive Compensation (IC) reporting team to validate goal attainment and ensure accurate payouts as per the IC plan.

• Identify opportunities to streamline data quality processes and methodologies to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

• Track and manage data-related requests and tasks using Jira/Confluence for effective demand management.

• Work with external partners to gather data requirements and ensure smooth data ingestion and integration into internal systems.

Essential Skills/Experience:

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required for eliciting requirements as well as communicating findings to key business stakeholders. Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills

• Excellent project management skills with demonstrated ability to lead multiple projects and priorities

• 4+ years of relevant professional experience, with at least 3 years of experience in business and/data analytics

• 3+ years working experience in data warehousing and modeling concepts and expertise in data analysis

• 5+ years of technical experience in database structures, query languages, structured programming languages, and the ability to query large datasets using ANSI SQL/HIVE SQL and working with relational databases

• Experience working with offshore development team

• Knowledge of SFMC, Veeva CRM data model in pharmaceutical settings, Patient Hub Data.

• The duties of this role are generally conducted in an office environment. Desirable Skills/Experience:

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Computer or Information/Data Sciences, science, technology, engineering, mathematics) required. Advanced degree preferred.

• Experience with Data Management Platforms like Hive, Snowflake, and Spark for large-scale prospects data is a plus

• Proficiency in Snowflake, SQL, and Excel.

• Experience with business intelligence tools such as PowerBI, Qlik Sense, and Tableau.

• Familiarity with pharmaceutical data sets, including Patient Hub Data, Veeva CRM, Claims (IQVIA/Komodo/Symphony, etc.), and Specialty Pharmacy Data.

• Experience with DBT, Python, GitHub, Collibra, Jira, and Confluence is advantageous.
