QA & Data Quality Engineer

Description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented QA Engineer to join our Data Engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automation, Python, and SQL queries. Familiarity with ElasticSearch, Node.js, and cloud platforms such as AWS will be considered a significant advantage. The QA Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality standards for our data pipelines, integrations, and processing workflows while collaborating with developers and data engineers.

Experience:

• Proven experience in a QA role with a focus on data engineering or similar fields.
• Strong experience in automation testing, particularly for data-driven applications.

Technical Skills:

• Strong proficiency in Python for test automation and scripting.
• Solid knowledge of SQL for creating, running, and validating database queries.
• Familiarity with ElasticSearch is a significant advantage.
• Proficiency in Node.js is a plus.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, particularly AWS, for managing cloud resources and services.

Testing Tools:

• Hands-on experience with testing frameworks like Selenium, Pytest, or other similar tools.
• Experience with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and version control systems (e.g., Git).

Analytical Skills:

• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically and strategically.
• High attention to detail and the ability to identify and resolve complex issues.

Soft Skills:

• Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple test scenarios and projects simultaneously.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement automated test scripts for data engineering workflows and services.
• Collaborate with developers to design, build, and maintain automated testing frameworks.
• Perform comprehensive testing of data pipelines, data transformations, and ETL processes.
• Write and execute SQL queries to verify data accuracy and integrity in databases.
• Validate large-scale data processing and storage systems, ensuring high availability, reliability, and scalability.
• Conduct performance testing and monitor the performance of data processes, identifying bottlenecks.
• Identify, track, and report defects, ensuring they are resolved in a timely manner.
• Ensure that data delivered by the system meets quality and performance standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop test plans, cases, and environments.
• Continuously improve testing practices and workflows to maintain a high level of testing coverage and effectiveness.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging testing technologies.
