(Level A) $78,544 - $105,611 or (Level B) $111,031 - $131,335 per annum plus employer contribution of 17% superannuation.

The Adelaide Business School has a stimulating multidisciplinary learning environment that fosters the pursuit of leadership and excellence in both research and education. The Business School also offers high quality research programs at the honours, masters and PhD level.

The Centre for Sustainable Operations & Resilient Supply Chains (CSORSC) is hosted by the Adelaide Business School. This centre provides research excellence that industry and government stakeholders can rely on to inform investment into the smart, sustainable and circular supply chains that an advanced economy needs.

CSORSC is seeking a self-motivated individual who can investigate areas of relevance to the research program of CSORSC and the needs of key industry partners. The postdoc researcher will produce data collection and modelling studies, high quality peer-reviewed publications, technical reports and documentation, and workshop delivery. The role will also involve the co-supervision of higher degree research students. Above all, the role will build the profile of CSORSC as a centre of supply chain excellence and will advance their own career by submitting applications for fellowships and other funded opportunities.

To be successful at Level A we are seeking:

  • A completed or nearly completed PhD in systems engineering, manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering, or a related discipline, with a focus on operations and supply chain management.
  • A demonstrated record along with strong potential of research scholarship publishing in highly ranked journals in operations, manufacturing, business, or supply chains research (FT50, ideally also ABDC: A* potential).
  • A demonstrated background in the use of modelling, qualitative and quantitative methods.
  • The ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, the academic community, industry partners, and key stakeholders.
  • Excellent organisational and project management skills, with the ability to work independently and also as a member of a broader team, including with partners.

To be successful at Level B we are additionally seeking:

  • Evidence of writing and securing externally funded research grants, e.g. Category 1 ARC, Category 2 Other Public, or Category 3 Industry (or similar international schemes if an international candidate).

Desired characteristics:

  • Demonstrated success at motivating and supervising the research of Undergraduate, Honours and/or Higher Degree Research students.
  • A demonstrated aptitude to engage collaboratively with industry partners and other external stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of optimisation solvers and proficiency in machine learning algorithms and their practical implementation though Python language.
  • A minimum two years of relevant postdoc and/or industry experience [for Level B appointment].
