The MTSS Data Specialist supports building administrators by tracking and analyzing school improvement data, ensuring compliance with district procedures, and facilitating data-driven instructional decisions. This role involves collecting and distributing assessment data, leading data discussions, and collaborating with school leadership teams to support student success in academic and behavioral areas.

The MTSS Data Specialist supports building administrators by tracking and analyzing school improvement data, ensuring compliance with district procedures, and facilitating data-driven instructional decisions. Qualifications - Education & Certification
- Bachelor's degree required
- Teacher certification preferred
Qualifications - Experience
- Strong preference for internal applicants who are currently working in a Lansing School District role.
- Experience with process improvement and data analysis.
- Experience analyzing administrative level education data.
Qualifications - Skills & Knowledge
- Strong ability to read, interpret, and communicate data to multiple stakeholders.
- Proficiency in working collaboratively with grade-level teams and school leadership.
- Knowledge of assessment tools, including district benchmark and diagnostic assessments.
- Understanding of Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) and CRPBIS frameworks.
- Ability to facilitate data meetings and support instructional decision-making.
Sample Job Responsibilities
- District-Wide Data Management & Analysis – Collect, analyze, and maintain academic, behavioral, and attendance data to identify trends and inform decision-making.
- MTSS & CRPBIS Implementation Oversight – Ensure consistent implementation of MTSS frameworks and CRPBIS strategies across all schools, supporting intervention plans for at-risk students.
- Support for Building Administrators & Leadership Teams – Provide principals with data insights and guidance to enhance school improvement efforts.
- Training & Professional Development – Lead training for school leaders, teachers, and staff on data-driven decision-making, MTSS best practices, and progress monitoring.
- Intervention & Progress Monitoring – Work with district leaders and support staff to monitor the effectiveness of Tier 2 and Tier 3 interventions and recommend adjustments.
- Compliance & Reporting – Ensure adherence to state and federal requirements for MTSS and school improvement, preparing reports for district leadership and stakeholders.
- Collaboration with Community & External Partners – Partner with agencies and organizations to provide additional student support and improve attendance and engagement.
- Data-Driven Decision-Making Systems – Develop and refine district-wide systems for tracking interventions and student progress in real-time.
- Special Education & Student Support Alignment – Coordinate with special education teams to align MTSS interventions with IEP and 504 processes.
- Facilitate District-Level MTSS/CRPBIS Meetings – Lead data reviews and guide school leadership in using data to improve student outcomes.
