In this role, you'll:
be working as part of a Safe Systems and Programs (Safer People) team, providing research, data analysis, reporting and insights on a range of issues associated with road user behaviour and community attitudes towards road safety aimed at reducing road trauma as outlined in the 2026 Road Safety Action Plan.
This is work that will inform program directions, policy development and other initiatives designed to influence and change driver behaviour and improve road safety with a particular focus on supporting the average speed camera trial, seatbelt detection camera program and other automated enforcement under the NSW Automated Enforcement Strategy for road safety.
This fixed term opportunity (up until 01-03-2027) will see you joining a high performing, collaborative team environment.

About you
Your proven strong data analysis skills and problem-solving acumen, qualifications in data analysis, research or information management or similar, will see you excel in supporting program management, reporting and governance across a range of road safety programs supporting the Safe Systems model to improve road safety.
You will leverage your tertiary qualifications in data analysis, research or behavioural science, public policy or safety to deliver the goals of the 2026 Road Safety Action Plan and contributing to road safety outcomes within Transport for NSW.
You’re passionate about road safety and have experience with data analysis, reporting and insights, carrying out/and or applying research and the development of behavioural change programs.
You're recognised for your ability to prioritise your work under time pressure and for being pragmatic and outcomes focused.
You are self-motivated, organised and enjoy taking ownership of projects and you enjoy working in a multi-disciplinary team.
Knowledge sharing is valued by you as well as working within a collaborative team culture where professional development and cross-skilling is encouraged.
Currently, the team is enjoying a hybrid way of working with attendance to Macquarie Park offices one day a week on average. This may be subject to change as we finalise our return to office review.
