As a Senior Manager Data Architect, you will bring your technical skills to a hospitality company with an award-winning culture. On the Data Architecture team reporting to the Director of Data Architecture, you will develop and implement principles, guidelines, and best practices for the design and management of enterprise data architecture.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
Your role is important and below are some of the fundamental job duties that make your work unique.
What your day-to-day will be like:
- Create, update, and maintain principles to guide the design and management of data architecture, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and governance policies
- Set guidelines to ensure data quality, integrity and compliance with governance policies
- Develop and communicate the framework for evaluating and choosing the appropriate data storage technologies (e.g., relational, NoSQL, data lakes)
- Establish strategies for data retention, legal holds, and lifecycle management, ensuring compliance with enterprise policies
- Create guidelines for integrating data from diverse sources, including databases, APIs, cloud platforms, and third-party systems, ensuring seamless data flow
- Work closely with business analysts to understand data needs for specific business initiatives and align those needs with the overall enterprise data strategy
- Identify key data consumption patterns, processes, and interactions with other data components, ensuring the alignment of data consumption models with business objectives
- Define relevant data standards, formats, and protocols for data exchange across systems, ensuring interoperability and system integration
- Define the target data architecture and develop detailed roadmaps towards the desired future state
- Create and maintain comprehensive data architecture documents and standardized data flow diagrams, ensuring they are up-to-date and reflect the true structure, movement, and integration of data across the system
How you will collaborate with others:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Technical Product Owners, business analysts, engineers, data governance, and other teams, to understand data requirements and develop data strategies
- Work closely with IT leadership to ensure data architecture aligns with business priorities, compliance requirements, and industry standards
What projects you will take ownership of:
- You will lead the effort to establish data management principles, document and socialize data management patterns, define TOGAF aligned data architecture documentation templates
- You will lead the effort to document current state data architectures and data flows
WHY YOU'LL BE A GREAT FIT
You have these minimum qualifications:
- Seven (7) years of professional work experience in Technology or related field
- Six (6) years of experience in data architecture, data modeling, and database management
- Strong knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., AWS Redshift, MySQL, PostgreSQL)
- Familiarity with data modeling techniques and big data technologies (e.g., Data Lakes, Spark, Kafka)
- Experience with ETL tools (e.g., Talend, Informatica, Apache Nifi)
- This is a hybrid role and would require to be near one of our three US office locations (McLean, Dallas, Memphis)
- Travel up to 15%
It would be useful if you have:
- Bachelor’s Degree, or Associate’s Degree plus six (6) + years of Technology related experience, or High School Degree/GED plus twelve (12) + years of Technology related experience
- Ten (10) + years of professional work experience in Technology or related field
- Knowledge of industry-specific data standards and regulations (e.g., GDPR, SOX)
- AWS (Amazon Web Services) experience
- Travel/Hospitality industry experience
