As Senior Director of Artificial Intelligence, you will be responsible for delivering value to South College through the use of ai technologies. This role will be responsible for running an Artificial Intelligence division that will act as an administrative function dedicated to designing, developing, and implementing custom artificial intelligence tools. This role will report directly to the Vice President of Analytics and will work closely with the analysts on the Analytics team when implementing initiatives in overlapping areas.

This role will focus on enhancing the quality of student learning (academics/retention/outcomes) and administrative abilities (admissions/financial aid/student services) by providing innovative, tailored solutions for faculty and staff members across the college. The primary goal of the AI Division is to empower faculty and staff with cutting-edge tools that streamline administrative tasks, enhance teaching methodologies, and improve student outcomes. By leveraging AI, we can address challenges such as personalized learning support, data-driven decision-making, and operational efficiency, ultimately elevating the educational experience at South College.

Job Requirements / Responsibilities:

· Define and execute the AI strategy for the institution in alignment with the executive team vision.

· Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing AI team.

· Oversee the end-to-end execution of AI projects, ensuring timely delivery & quality.

· Drive adoption and innovation in AI technologies across the institution while collaborating with department leaders to understand challenges and opportunities in each area.

· Establish and maintain strategic partnerships with industry leaders and vendors to implement best practices and standards for AI development, deployment, and governance.

· Work cross functionally with resources from the IT department to achieve successful implementation of initiatives including releases of new code in production (both SQL & Python/R)

· Work alongside data analysts in the Analytics team to ensure implementations of both AI and non-Ai initiatives are coordinated and work well together.

· Create and deliver high level findings and initiatives to the executive team with regularly scheduled updates.

Qualifications:

· 10+ years of experience in Analytics or Artificial Intelligence in the workplace

· 3+ years in a leadership role in Analytics or Artificial Intelligence at a Fortune 500 company

· Masters’s degree in Analytics, Statistics, or Artificial Intelligence

· Deep understanding of statistical concepts and modeling

· Self-starter with the experience to work independently on projects with little oversight from start to finish

· Desire to learn new technologies and statistical concepts and how to apply them to fit the business needs.

· Excellent written and oral communication/presentation skills

· Works well in a fast-paced environment and can quickly switch priorities as business needs change

· Experience in: SQL, R or Python, PowerBI, Excel, Word, & PowerPoint
