Senior Azure Platform Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Azure Platform Engineer specializing in Data and AI solutions to join our dynamic team. As an Azure Platform Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our Azure cloud infrastructure with a focus on data processing and AI workloads. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the scalability, security, and reliability of our cloud-based AI systems. The ideal candidate is passionate about cloud technologies and AI, possesses strong problem-solving skills, and has a solid understanding of Azure services. 

Responsibilities: 

• Design, deploy, and maintain Azure infrastructure components such as Virtual Machines, Azure Storage, Azure SQL Database, and Virtual Networks with a focus on AI workloads. 

• Implement and manage automation tools for provisioning, configuration, and orchestration of Azure resources (e.g., Azure Resource Manager templates, Terraform, Azure DevOps). 

• Configure and optimize Azure Databricks, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Azure Machine Learning services for large-scale data processing and AI model training. 

• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize resource utilization to ensure high availability and performance of AI workloads. 

• Implement security best practices and compliance policies to safeguard sensitive data and AI models on the Azure platform. 

• Design and implement data pipelines using Azure Data Factory and Azure Synapse Analytics for efficient data processing and model training. 

• Set up and maintain Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) clusters for containerized AI applications and MLOps workflows. 

• Collaborate with data scientists and ML engineers to optimize AI model deployment and serving infrastructure. 

• Stay updated on emerging Azure technologies and best practices in cloud-based AI solutions. 

• Provide guidance and support to other team members on Azure-related tasks and AI infrastructure projects. 

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). 

• Proven experience as a cloud engineer with a focus on Azure, particularly in data and AI workloads. 

• In-depth knowledge of Azure services such as Azure Machine Learning, Azure Databricks, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Azure Kubernetes Service. 

• Strong understanding of data processing and AI infrastructure requirements. 

• Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as ARM templates, Terraform, or Bicep. 

• Strong understanding of networking concepts and experience with configuring Azure networking services (e.g., VNet, Azure Front Door, Application Gateway). 

• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes. 

• Familiarity with MLOps principles and practices, including CI/CD pipelines for ML models and configuration management tools. 

• Experience with Python and data processing frameworks (e.g., Spark, Pandas) is a plus. 

• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. 

• Azure certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect, Azure DevOps Engineer, or Azure Data Engineer Associate are preferred but not required. 

• Experience in developing and deploying serverless applications using Azure Functions, including integration with Event Grid, Service Bus, and API Management 

• Proficiency in designing and managing workflows using Azure Logic Apps, integrating with various connectors like SQL Server, SharePoint, Azure Storage, and third-party APIs. 

• Expertise in configuring VNet integration, Private Endpoints, and Firewall rules for Azure Resources to ensure secure and controlled access while restricting public exposure.
