Responsibilities

The Position Summary:

Delivering data warehouse, ETL, and Reporting solutions for our business users and patients.

  • Play a key role in solving business problems.
  • Build relationships with clients, stakeholders, and end users in a fast-paced environment.
  • Establishes best practices that produce high-quality data product and service
  • Guide teams to follow agile methodology to deliver technology products.

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for the conception, design, development, and deployment of data architecture and data models
  • Design that the data architecture to be scalable and maintainable
  • Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture
  • Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional / non-functional business requirements.
  • Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data and report delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc.
  • Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL and other technologies.
  • Build analytics tools that utilize the data pipeline to provide actionable insights into customer acquisition, operational efficiency and other key business performance metrics.
  • Work with stakeholders including Executive, IT / Engineering, and Finance teams to assist with data-related needs.
  • Create data tools for analytics team members that assist them in building and optimizing our product into an innovative industry leader.
  • Work with data and analytics experts to strive for greater functionality in our data systems.
  • Gather requirements and business process knowledge in order to transform the data in a way that’s geared towards the needs of end users
  • Investigate data to identify potential issues within ETL pipelines, notify end-users and propose adequate solutions
  • Work with the business in designing and delivering correct, high quality data
  • The ability to perform the physical, use of senses, cognitive, and environmental functions of the position, as specified on the physical demands.
  • The ability to build and maintain confidence and credibility with all clients and employees.

Experience Requirements and Preferences:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Finance, Healthcare Administration or another related field preferred

 Experience:

 

  • 5+ years of experience in a Data Engineer role
  • Advanced working SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, query authoring (SQL) as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases.
  • Guide decisions around data partitioning, indexing, and query optimization for performance improvements.
  • Broad understanding of Data Modeling, OLAP, SQL and ETL
  • Practical experience with one or more ETL tools, such as SSIS
  • Experience with data pipeline and workflow management tools
  • Experience building and optimizing data pipelines, architectures and data sets.
  • Experience with object-oriented/object function scripting languages: Python, Java, C++, Scala, etc.
  • Knowledgeable of Source Control and Project Management tools like TFS, Git, and JIRA
  • Familiarity with DevOps best practices and automation of documentation, testing, build, deployment, configuration, and monitoring
  • Experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
