At Triaina, we are tackling this challenge head-on. Our team is developing cutting-edge predictive models to bring clarity to the bulk shipping market, empowering industry leaders and traders with data-driven insights to make better decisions.

About the role: 

We’re looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to be our first engineering hire on Triaina — a high-impact, foundational role where you will shape the product architecture and technical stack.

This role is ideal for a highly skilled and well-rounded developer with expertise in performance oriented software development in C++, software architecture and backend services design. 

What you will do:

• Build & Lead – Design, develop, and scale a robust backend architecture for predictive modelling;
• Backend Development: Architect and build performance oriented backend services, state-of-the-art supply chain models and algorithms with efficient data integration. 
• Collaborate with Domain Experts – Work alongside our Entrepreneur-in-Residence, data scientists, and engineers to solve complex real-world problems.
• DevOps & QA: You are familiar with DevOps and QA best practices

Requirements

What you bring to the team:

• 3+ years of backend software development experience.
• Strong C++ and Python skills for performance-oriented development.
• Expertise in backend architecture, APIs, and database design (SQL & NoSQL).
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP or Azure) and serverless architectures.
• Proficiency in data pipelines, microservices, and REST APIs.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make independent tech decisions.
• Comfortable in fast-paced, start-up-like environments.

Bonus points:

•  Previous start-up experience or an entrepreneurial mindset.
•  Experience in supply chain, logistics, or shipping tech.
•  Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD, and test automation.
