Purpose of the Role
Join the Field Quality team as the Technical Manager – Field Data Analysis, where you'll be responsible for driving the future data strategy within the Field (Customer) Quality department.

This is an exciting opportunity for a data expert to maximise the impact of new online (live vehicle) data technology, apply latest data developments (i.e. Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning) to Field Data, and report all relevant Field Data to senior leadership within both Bentley and VW Group companies. The key focus of the role is to use data to rapidly identify Quality concerns, predict future failure rates, and support problem solving of key technical topics.

Reporting into the Field Quality Manager, your main responsibilities include;

• Providing technical leadership to existing team of data scientists and data analysts
• Meet all formal monthly, quarterly and annual reporting deadlines; to support management meetings; including the creation of data-led stories to support KPIs
• Define and implement the strategies for data led problem solving – applying data science to Field Quality Data sources to accelerate the resolution of key technical topics
• Collaborate with relevant stakeholders across VW group to apply latest Smart Quality technologies to Bentley, and define ways of working with online data through collaboration with Group counterparts
• Creation, maintenance and delivery of Field Data strategy - defining how to incorporate and implement emerging technologies, generate and deploy new reporting structures, and plan the phased implementation of new VW Group tools
• Lead the delivery of future failure prognosis using Weibull analysis or similar predictive modelling to support key business decisions
• Manage service provision for management of online data acquisition:- including the identification, prioritisation and analysis of the relevant output data

About the Team
Field Quality is responsible for minimising warranty spend and maximising customer satisfaction through the elimination of Field Quality issues.

Within Bentley, the Field Quality team is separated into two halves; Data Analytics (using Field Data to identify customer quality concerns) and Problem Steering (prioritising and resolving the Field Quality concerns to minimise the customer impact).

About you – Skills and Experience

Requirements:

• Data Analysis & Visualisation – Ability to analyse large datasets and present insights using Tableau
• Strategic Thinking – Ability to shape the data strategy and drive adoption of new technologies.
• Problem-Solving & Critical Thinking – Skill in identifying patterns, diagnosing issues, and recommending actionable solutions.
• Communication & Storytelling – Ability to translate complex data insights into clear, business-focused recommendations.
• Stakeholder Management – Experience working cross-functionally with engineering, quality, and customer service teams.

Preferred:

• Machine Learning & Predictive Analytics – Experience with supervised and unsupervised learning models to identify trends and predict failures.
• Statistical & Mathematical Modelling – Strong grasp of statistics, probability, and optimisation techniques.
• Natural Language Processing (NLP) – (If applicable) Ability to extract insights from customer feedback using NLP techniques.
• Experience of Automotive Data & Warranty Analytics – Understanding of vehicle warranty data, failure modes, and customer feedback. Ability to link data trends to potential root causes.
