Early Career Summer Student Data Analytics Intern

HUB International Internship Program Summer 2025 - from May 5th to August 29th.

Are you ready to launch your career in insurance brokerage? Join the award-winning HUB International Internship Program (HIIP).

In this full-time, paid, 17-week internship in Canada you will be exposed to the vast career opportunities within the growing insurance brokerage industry. Your role will involve validating and developing reports from a large volume of data related to the insurance industry. You'll have the primary function of verifying data and the methodology used to extract it, as well as supporting the creation of PowerBI reports. This internship provides you with the opportunity to collaborate with all departments and gain valuable insights into the insurance industry through on-the-job training, working closely with a variety of HUB team members to gain hands-on experience in client service, sales, and more!

Key responsibilities

• Help design the graphic user interface for PowerBI reports.

• Use Excel formulas and lookups when applicable.

• Identify data patterns and trends to help answer business questions and improve decision making.

• Help design/develop Power BI Dashboards.

• Perform analytical modeling on large data sets to support business operations.

• Engage with team to provide support for projects and initiatives.

• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• 3rd or 4th year student currently enrolled in a post-secondary University or college program.

• Major with a focus on Business, Accounting or Math would be an asset.

• Currently majoring in data or business analytics

• A self-starter with a strong desire to learn about employee benefits and the insurance industry

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask.

• A team player with a desire to collaborate and assist others.

• Enthusiasm to learn and be mentored by experienced professionals.

• Ability to work independently when needed.

• Effective prioritization skills.

• A positive attitude that values teamwork and continuous learning.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Outlook.

Compensation Expectations

The expected hourly range for this position is $19.00 - $23.00 and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position’s business line, scope and level.
