The PT Data Manager will provide quality professional support for the Brooklyn Public Library’s Adult Learning Program High School Equivalency program. Responsibilities will include assisting the HSE Literacy Office through planning, organizing, and assisting in coordinating daily functions of GED computer-based and paper-based exams.  One would be the point person for coordinating GED exams, administering exams, prepare test materials and schedules for approximately 250 non-high school graduates per year for BPL’s GED testing sites. Duties also include processing examinee information, advising and referring applicants as needed, and liaising with testing examiners. Assist HSE participants with how to schedule themselves for an exam, etc. One will serve as a resource for all HSE students and potential test takers and track examinees' achievement by collecting data utilizing the appropriate management systems (GED manager and Google Drive). Assist with administering NYSED (TABE and/or BEST Plus) required standardized assessments.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with key HSE team members to fully understand GED and track and monitor examinees' results.
  • Work as the GED examiner for GED test administrations; administer and monitor the English and Spanish versions of the GED test within established standardized guidelines required by the GED Testing Services/Pearson Vue.
  • Triage HSE email and hotline inquiries.
  • Ensures candidate eligibility, schedules test sessions, disseminates test notifications for students and prepares and submits all necessary reports and forms. Register eligible examinees and schedule examinees in the GED manager database. Follows NYSED regulations and policies and ensures compliance with regulations and test security. 
  • Maintains testing center statistics and shares monthly/quarterly status reports.  
  • Serves as a resource for assessment information regarding program information to students, staff, area high schools/preparation programs, and the community.
  • Assist with test vouchers, schedule test appointments using the GED manager database, and collaborate with GED testing proctors/examiners within the department.
  • Enter student data into NYSED database (ASISTS)
  • Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum HSE diploma or equivalent; some college experience required.
  • Knowledgeable of GED and HSE exams
  • Data entry skills 
  • Able to multi-task and function at a high paced and pay close attention to detail
  • Effective communication and organizational skills; stellar customer service skills; proficient Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google Docs
  • Bilingual in Spanish a plus

This is a part-time grant funded position funded through June 30, 2025. Hours for this position are up to 19 hours per week at $25 per hour.
