Job Description

We are looking for a Data Scientist in Lausanne. 

 

Our client has revamped its Artificial Intelligence initiatives in 2024, with a strong focus on Generative AI. With one business case ready for production and a cloud platform built on Azure OpenAI and Azure Databricks, we are now moving forward with new feasibility studies for multiple AI-driven use cases.

We are looking for a skilled Data Scientist with MLOps expertise to lead the technical feasibility of AI solutions, focusing on content extraction, summarization, and feature extraction. This is a high-impact role where you will have full access to the platform to test models, develop end-to-end pipelines, and provide metrics-driven feasibility analysis.

Key Responsibilities

🔎 AI Feasibility Study & Model Evaluation

  • Test, develop, and evaluate Generative AI models for content extraction and summarization.
  • Conduct end-to-end feasibility studies, providing data-driven insights and performance metrics.
  • Work on speech-to-text AI for call center transcript analysis, intent detection, and summarization.
  • Implement invoice understanding models for item line classification and automation.
  • Develop and evaluate RAG-based applications, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.

💡 AI & MLOps Development

  • Deploy ML models using MLOps best practices.
  • Work extensively with Python, LLMs, MLFlow, and LangChain.
  • Utilize Azure Databricks for model training and deployment (plus).
  • Ensure compliance with AI governance, security, and performance monitoring.

🤝 Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Work closely with Vaudoise’s AI & Business teams in Lausanne.
  • Operate in an agile and results-driven environment, ensuring AI solutions align with business needs.

 

    Qualifications

    Technical Skills

    • Mandatory: Python, LLMs, MLFlow, LangChain.
    • Plus: Azure Databricks, Speech-to-Text AI, OCR & NLP techniques.
    • Experience with Generative AI model fine-tuning and MLOps best practices.

    Industry & Business Knowledge

    • Experience in the insurance industry is a strong plus.
    • Prior work in content extraction, classification, and AI-driven automation.

    Soft Skills & Work Environment

    • Hands-on, results-driven mindset – getting things done efficiently.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
    • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with both technical and business stakeholders.
