One of the key functions in Galway is Global Business Services, which provides number of shared services activities across finance, purchasing, quality, technical and customer services for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). Various global and EMEA commercial and operational management teams across our infectious disease and cardiometabolic businesses are also based in Galway, overseeing the supply of millions of rapid tests from HIV to diabetes to COVID-19, to patients in many regions across the world.

POSITION SUMMARY  

The Global Supply Chain for ID, the Infectious Diseases Market Business Unit consists of Manufacturing sites in China, Korea, Japan, Jena, Germany and Scarborough and Westbrook US, centralised services in Galway and the corporate headquarters in Chicago, US. The Supply Chain Headquarters for the Global Infectious Diseases Markets (ID) is based in Galway.  We are responsible for managing the Supply and Demand of Lateral Flow Diagnostic Tests for HIV, Malaria, Hepatitis C, Flu, a range of tropical diseases, and now Covid 19. We support a rapidly expanding Business unit within Abbott and collaborate closely on sales execution, product supply and human resources with the other business Units within the Abbott Rapid Diagnostics Division. In addition to liaising with Manufacturing Units in Japan, Korea, China, Germany and US, we amongst many other external Global Suppliers and we serve a Global Customer base across all continents. Our core ERP system is SAP.

As a Global Senior Supply Chain Business Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in optimizing our Rapid Diagnostics Test Global Supply Chain by providing Data-Driven Insights using Power Bi Dashboards. The Global Senior Supply Chain Business Analyst must have the ability to connect with cross functional Global stakeholders and understand their needs. The Global Senior Supply Chain Business Analyst must possess a robust understanding of Power BI development (or similar), coupled with a profound knowledge of Supply Chain processes. 

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES 

  • Data-Driven Insights: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyse supply chain data. Leverage your expertise in Power BI development to create insightful visualizations that drive informed decision-making.
  • Power BI development: Developing & implementing insightful Power BI dashboards, enabling self-service solutions based on available data sets.
  • Process Enhancement: Identify inefficiencies and gaps within supply chain processes. Based on data, propose improvements to streamline operations, enhance communication channels, and foster collaboration.
  • Testing and Validation: Assist in developing test cases and participate in integration testing cycles. Provide subject matter expertise during user acceptance testing.
  • Problem-Solving: Tackle supply chain challenges head-on, leveraging analytical skills to devise effective solutions.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Work closely with demand planning, material management, and manufacturing teams to align processes and created reports based on customer demand.

EDUCATION AND COMPETENCIES  

  • Minimum of 5 to 7 years Planning experience in a Global Business Environment. 
  • Experience of supply chain in medical device industry is an advantage. 
  • Primary Degree in Engineering, Business ,Maths or Data Science is a prerequisite and a Masters degree in one of these subjects is desirable. 
  • Strong understanding of the following tools: Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, Power Query, DAX, SQL, VBA, Python, Excel
  • Knowledge of SAP (or equivalent) Modules required to maintain customer, vendor & pricing Master Data. 
  • Must have advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook 
  • Ability to work on own initiative, motivated, self-starter and Team player. 
  • Desire to acquire further knowledge and to understand the business. 
  • Fluency in business English, both verbal and written 
  • Ability to travel globally as required (with advance planning) 
  • A strong track record of collaborating with and influencing multifunctional, globally dispersed teams, with a project environment preferred. 
  • Experience of presenting to Global Executive teams. 
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills. 
  • Excellent Communication Skills with ability to communicate and train other staff members and internal customers.
