About the role

  • Design, prototype, and evaluate sensing solutions for next-generation robotic platforms to address real-world challenges.

  • Identify and resolve edge cases in real-world domestic environments to ensure robustness and suitability.

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design systems considering physical, computational, and cost constraints.

  • Develop and test software in C++ and Python on prototype or target hardware.

  • Create machine learning and image processing algorithms optimized for targeted hardware.

  • Stay updated on emerging robotics technologies and industry best practices.

About you

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in robotics or related fields, with practical expertise in sensing and perception; PhD preferred.

  • 5+ years of applied robotics experience with highly articulated mobile robots in complex real-world environments.

  • Proficiency with various proprioceptive and exteroceptive sensing technologies, understanding their limitations and integration.

  • Experience with Time-of-Flight and RGB camera sensors.

  • Skilled in designing, developing, and testing hardware and software prototypes.

  • Expertise in benchmarking perception algorithms on embedded compute platforms.

  • Familiarity with state-of-the-art machine learning (MLOps) and computer vision algorithms like object detection, tracking, segmentation, and point cloud registration.

  • Self-motivated, capable of working effectively in interdisciplinary teams.

  • Experience with robotics simulation tools (e.g., IsaacSim, Gazebo, PyBullet, Unity).

  • Proficient in C++, Python, ROS, and other open-source libraries.

  • Strong experience in Linux-based software development using modern practices.
