Drive innovation and business growth with innovative data science solutions! We are seeking an experienced and technically skilled Senior Data Scientist to join our team!
Responsibilities
- Technical Leadership: Lead the design, development, and validation of complex AI and machine learning models, ensuring high performance and scalability.
- Framework Development: Establish and refine robust model validation frameworks and methodologies.
- Model Validation: Oversee the model validation process, providing critical feedback to enhance model quality and reliability.
- Performance Metrics: Assess and improve performance metrics to ensure the robustness of AI/ML solutions.
- Tool Development: Develop in-house tools, including model validation test libraries and model vulnerability detection programs.
- Training Preparation: Create technical training materials to support and enhance future model development efforts.
- Governance Enhancement: Improve model governance systems, including model inventory management and rating methodologies.
- Communication: Translate complex technical concepts into actionable insights for diverse audiences.
- Documentation: Thoroughly document model limitations and provide guidance for future enhancements.
- Mentorship: Mentor and guide junior data scientists, fostering professional growth and technical knowledge sharing.

What we are looking for
- Advanced degree (Ph.D. preferred) in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
- Extensive experience with programming languages such as Python, and machine learning libraries/frameworks like PyTorch, TensorFlow, and Hugging Face.
- Proven track record in solving complex problems with innovative, technically sound solutions.
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with experience leading cross-functional technical teams.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to technical excellence in model validation.
- An appreciation for Responsible/Trustworthy AI principles.

HybridSalary range is expected to be between
$94,220.00 CAD - $174,980.00 CADIf you are applying for this role outside of the primary location, please contact recruitment@manulife.com for the salary range for your location. The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training. Employees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance.
