Chemtest is part of Eurofins; we are an award winning company providing routine analytical services and bespoke specialist testing throughout the UK, Ireland and Europe. Our laboratories are UKAS accredited to ISO/IEC 17025:2005 and, where applicable the Environment Agency MCERTS Performance Standard for soils.

 

Job Description

As a Business Data Analyst, you will play a key role in gathering, analysing, and interpreting complex data to help drive business decisions and improve operational efficiency. You will work closely with business stakeholders to understand their needs and provide actionable insights to enhance performance. This role involves working with various teams to create data models, design reports, and support data-driven decision-making processes.

Duties and responsibilities:

 

  • Ensure business compliance with QMS, IEC/ISO 17025, MCERTS and associated documentation.
  • To comply with all the Health and Safety and ISO14001 requirements of your role, and perform any other reasonable duties as required by the Eurofins Chemtest Business.
  • Analyse and interpret business data, providing actionable insights to stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reports for ongoing business analysis.
  • Collaborate with departments to define data requirements and gather insights.
  • Extract, clean, and transform raw data from multiple sources.
  • Identify trends, patterns, and correlations to support business strategies.
  • Assist in the design and implementation of data models and systems.
  • Communicate findings clearly and effectively to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Work with large datasets and ensure data integrity, accuracy, and consistency.
  • Provide recommendations based on data analysis to improve business performance and operational efficiencies.
  • Continuously monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide recommendations for improvements.
  • Maintain confidentiality

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics or related field.
  • Proven experience as a Business Data Analyst, Data Analyst or similar role

Skills/Experience:

  • Strong proficiency in data analysis tools and software, such as Excel, SQL, Power BI, or Tableau.
  • Experience with data mining, data cleansing, and reporting tools.
  • Knowledge of data warehousing, reporting, and business intelligence systems.
  • Ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable business insights.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong problem-solving ability.
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis and business analytics methodologies is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Familiarity with machine learning and predictive analytics.
  • Experience with programming languages such as Python or R.
  • Knowledge of industry-specific data challenges or trends.
