The Perioperative Data Analyst should be able to gather and analyze Perioperative data from multiple sources (e.g. budget department, clinical operations, and patient satisfaction) to extract trends and business insights.
This role requires that one should be analytical and resourceful, as well as be an excellent communicator who’s able to tell the story behind raw data to non-technical audiences. Your goal will be to help us operate profitably and streamline our processes to keep patients and employees satisfied.
- Gathering and integrating data from disparate sources
- Building models and analyzing data to unearth trends and patterns
- Presenting and explaining information, and suggesting improvements
- Understand Perioperative/healthcare operations and systems
- Create and validate record-keeping processes
- Evaluate and preprocess raw information
- Delve into data to discover discrepancies and patterns
- Build models that capture a wide range of health care operations
- Present and explain information in an accessible way (e.g budgeting reports)
- Suggest ways to both increase healthcare/Perioperative quality and reduce costs
- Collaborate with management and internal teams to implement and evaluate improvements
- Oversee the design and delivery of reports and insights that analyze business functions and key operations and performance metrics
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, statistics and/or related field
- Master’s degree in relevant field of study preferred
- 5-6 years database application/management experience, preferably in a large medical center or healthcare environment
- Knowledge of Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) frameworks
- Proficient in SQL and analysis tools (e.g. SASS)
- Knowledge of Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) and data management systems
- Excellent analytical and communication skills
- Outstanding organizational and problem-solving aptitude
Compensation Statement
The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for this role is $65,885.00 - $98,827.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
