A bit about the role…

We are seeking a Technical Manager (AI) in our R&D team. You will balance hands-on technical work with people leadership.

Your day-to-day will involve balancing technical leadership with management duties, driving technical conversations, and collaborating with a variety of different stakeholders. You’ll translate business requirements into technical strategies, lead effective meetings, and drive decisions collaboratively.

WHO YOU ARE 

• Experienced Leader: Minimum of 3 years in leadership roles, with a passion for mentoring and guiding teams.

• Full-Stack Expertise: At least 5+ years of full-stack development experience (Python, TypeScript, React)., with deep technical knowledge in SaaS and scaled product environments.

• Strategic & Analytical Thinker: Highly organized, process-driven, and skilled in experimentation to drive continuous improvement.

• Strong Communicator: Ability to actively listen, collaborate, and foster open discussions to reach the best technical and business outcomes.

• Empathetic & Inclusive: A leader who values team input, encourages innovation, and ensures decisions are made collaboratively.

• Education & Qualifications: Master’s degree or equivalent experience in relevant fields such as Computer Science, Engineering, or AI/ML.

SECURITY REQUIREMENTS:

• Candidates must undergo a criminal records check upon hire;

• Be a Canadian Citizen (dual citizens included), or eligible to work in Canada;

• Be willing to comply with Solink’s own security policies and standards.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

• Team Leadership & Management: Lead a hybrid team by balancing technical oversight with people management. Mentor your team and drive effective, collaborative decision-making.

• Technical Strategy: Translate business requirements into actionable technical strategies. Plan, size, and estimate solutions in partnership with R&D and product teams.

• Project Execution: Utilize agile methodologies (expertise with Jira and Kanban) to drive technical projects from concept to production, balancing research, production support, and feature development.

• Technology Focus: Leverage your expertise in ML Ops, AWS, ML, embedded systems, and full stack development (Python, TypeScript, React). Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure technical alignment.
