SUMMARY:

Supply Chain Data Management will support the implementation and management of all Supplier data related projects, tasks, and initiatives. The position will report to the Purchasing Supervisor.


PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each primary duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodation will be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the primary duties. 

  • Manage processes in accordance with AS9100 processes.
  • Ensure all SKU’s within the system meet business requirements.
  • Manage Item Master Category Sets
  • Manage Supplier projects that impact Item Master Data.
  • Review Supplier communications for impact to Item Data – to include: Price, Cost, Discounts, Lead Time, PN, Model Codes, Descriptions, Obsolescence, etc.
  • Review Supplier communications for impact to business. Communicate impact to affected areas of the Organization.
  • Communicate with Suppliers for annual product & pricing updates.
  • Manage storage of all Supplier information for use by all operations employees.
  • Maintenance Item Master Data impacted by any Supplier updates or changes.
  • Develop the Item Master to increase ease of use and efficiency, allowing maximum supplier discounts to be received while reducing Supplier exceptions. 


Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS: The requirements listed below are representative of the education, experience, skills and/or abilities required. An individual must meet the minimum requirements as listed in each Qualifications subsection.

  

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline, such as industrial distribution, is preferred.
  • If bachelor’s degree is not present, at least two years of experience in a field related to Supply Chain, Customer Service or Data Management is required. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. 

 EXPERIENCE:

  • 2+ years MRP/ERP data management preferred.
  • 2+ years Project Management preferred 

 SKILLS & ABILITIES: 

  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects.
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems involving multiple variables in standard situations.
  • Computer skills; advanced knowledge of Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel, and ERP’s. 
  • Demonstrated ability to professionally communicate with suppliers and internal customers regarding discount schedules, product information, and upcoming price increases.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate discount schedules, vendor incentive programs, packaging, and minimum requirements into an ERP system.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some movement from area to area, transporting of items such as a laptop computer, printers, servers, paper, books, and small parts, driving an automobile, etc.


WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the primary duties of the job, the employee is regularly exposed to general office environment. Work outside normal business hours is required from time to time.
