Senior Software Developer

We’re coming off a strong year and are setting even higher ambitions for the future. To help us reach the next level, we’re looking for a Senior Software Developer to join our team.

As a Senior Software Developer at Ambyint, you will report to the Software Development Lead and play a key role in designing and building scalable, cloud-native solutions that solve complex challenges in the oil and gas industry. You’ll work with modern technologies, mentor junior developers, and push the boundaries of what’s possible with cloud, AI, and IoT. We’re especially looking for someone who cares deeply about team culture, people leadership and driving meaningful impact for our customers.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Design, develop, and maintain application software components for our cloud-native platform.
• Develop and enhance our front-end, along with the backend services and APIs that support it.
• Work both independently and collaboratively to deliver impactful features to market.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of learning and innovation.
• Build end-to-end features across cloud, web, and mobile infrastructure.
• Utilize open-source technologies whenever possible, prioritizing open standards over proprietary solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Data Science, Product, and DevOps, to build and refine features.
• Contribute to technical documentation and best practices to support team growth and knowledge sharing.
• Experiment with new technologies, prototypes, and fast feedback loops to drive continuous innovation.
• Participate in Agile development methodologies to efficiently execute and deliver projects.
• Mentor and support junior developers, providing guidance on best practices, code quality, and professional growth.
• Demonstrate a passion for leading people and nurturing a positive, inclusive culture in which everyone can thrive.

QUALIFICATIONS

• 10+ years of experience in taking a feature from concept to delivery and support.
• Working knowledge of Javascript/NodeJS, React and Python.
• Working knowledge of React frameworks like NextJS and the concept of server side rendering.
• Understanding the nature of asynchronous programming and its quirks and workarounds.
• Experience with Kafka and event-driven architecture.
• Experience with non-relational data stores such as MongoDB, Cassandra, etc.
• Experience with SQL based database systems such as SQL Server, Snowflake, etc.
• Experience with cloud computing, specifically AWS.
• Familiarity with ETL/ELT data pipelines and core data warehouse concepts.
• Understanding fundamental design principles behind a scalable application.
• Experience addressing challenges and driving team success through mentorship, guidance, and a focus on delivering impactful solutions.
• Proven ability to lead and guide teams through complex projects, from initial concept to successful delivery, ensuring alignment with business objectives and technical requirements.
• BS/MS in engineering, computer science, or equivalent relevant experience.
