The Position

We are looking for an outstanding computational neuroscientist with experience in EEG and time series analysis to join our mission to identify novel therapies for our patients by applying computational analysis to multi-modal data. As a Research Scientist in the global Computational Biology and Digital Sciences (gCBDS) department, you will be working in close collaboration with research and translational scientists in the Neuroscience & Mental Health therapeutic area identifying treatments for precision psychiatry and related brain indications using state-of-the-art computational methods to drive patient segmentation, target identification and ultimately delivering novel therapies for our patients. Embedded in Boehringer Ingelheim’s growing gCBDS department, you will have an impact on Research & Development, actively contributing to the discovery of breakthrough therapies that will increase human health.   This position is part time eligible with 80%.

Tasks & responsibilities

  • In your new role, you will identify circuit-based treatment targets, patient stratification, and treatment response biomarkers for precision psychiatry.
  • In addition, you will apply state-of-the-art methods, including machine learning methods, to integrate fMRI data with other data modalities, such as task, questionnaire, electronic health records, and transcriptomics data for target identification and patient stratification and treatment response.
  • In interdisciplinary teams, you will contribute to and implement data-driven solutions during all research phases - from experimental design to downstream analyses - using state-of-the-art infrastructure in cluster computing and cloud-based environments.
  • To ensure best practices for FAIR data you will work in close collaboration with the Data & Infrastructure team in gCBDS
  • Furthermore, you will be presenting analysis strategies and results to project team members and governance boards and senior stakeholders.
