Engineering Team Lead - AI

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated AI Team Technical Lead to drive the development and implementation of advanced AI solutions within the Echo360 Echosystem platform. This role is a unique blend of technical leadership and hands-on development, requiring a strong individual contributor who can both guide the team and actively participate in building innovative AI applications. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in AWS AI services and a proven track record of applying AI to document, video, assessment, and interaction data.  Use cases include summarization, metadata extraction, re-mixing of content, generation of new context-aware personalized learning content and paths.

Requirements

The Primary Responsibilities for this role include:

• Lead technical design and architecture for AI projects, ensuring best practices.
• Develop and deploy AI models for document, video, and interaction data using AWS and other model/service providers
• Build and maintain data pipelines for AI model training and deployment.
• Collaborate very closely with peer tech leads with responsibility for ensuring successful development and integration of specific features into platform modules.
• Provide leadership and technical guidance to AI team members.
• Evaluate and recommend new AI technologies and tools.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to define AI requirements.
• Conduct thorough testing and validation of AI models.
• Communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
• Contribute to code reviews and knowledge-sharing sessions.

The ideal candidate for this role will have/be:

• 5+ years of experience in AI development and deployment.  
• 3+ years of experience using AWS AI services.
• Strong programming skills in Python and other relevant languages.
• Experience with machine learning frameworks and multiple LLMs, including Response Augmentation for extraction, summarization, search, and generation of new content.
• Experience with AI-supported document processing, video analysis, interaction and engagement data, and assessment.
• Strong understanding of data pipelines and data engineering principles.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience in the EdTech industry is a plus.
• Experience with MLOps practices is a plus.

Additional Job Details

This position is FULLY REMOTE; we will consider candidates who are located in many, but not all, states within the United States.  For US-based positions, candidates must be eligible to work in the United States for any employer.

The base salary range for this position is $145,000 - $155,000 annually.

Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills and experience. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work.
