Our data strategy, driven by a data mesh approach, supports our technology strategy, governance, and operating model. The Manufacturing Data and Analytics Hub develops and manages data and analytics products to enhance efficiency and decision-making across our manufacturing function.

What you'll do

As a Data Architect, you will play a critical role in Volvo Cars Manufacturing & Supply Chain on its journey to becoming a data-driven organization. You will be responsible for designing and building a strong data foundation, enabling cross-functional analytics across manufacturing and supply chain operations. Additionally, you will help shape the operational data architecture to support efficiency, transparency, and scalability.
 
Your Key Responsibilities
    •   Design and maintain data and information models that align with our manufacturing and supply chain reference data architecture and Volvo Cars’ broader data strategy.
    •   Develop and implement solutions to integrate data from various sources, ensuring seamless data flows and enhanced accessibility across manufacturing and supply chain functions.
    •   Advise and consult business areas on data architecture best practices, ensuring compliance with Volvo Cars’ standards and guidelines.
    •   Optimize data processes, including data creation, transformation, and source-to-target mappings, in collaboration with stakeholders across both manufacturing and supply chain operations.

What you'll bring

• 5+ years of experience in data architecture, with expertise in data modeling, master data management, metadata, and information architecture.
• A strong end-to-end perspective on data architecture and the ability to guide solution architects in master data management.
• A proven ability to influence decision-making across different levels and functions.

 
Bonus Skills That Set You Apart:

• Experience with data mesh concepts.
• Previous experience in the automotive industry or supply chain analytics.
• Knowledge of knowledge graphs and semantic modeling.
• A strong professional network in data architecture and analytics.
• Experience working with Unified namespace.
