Data Engineer

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to lead the development and maintenance of a centralized data infrastructure for our organization. This role will involve leveraging cutting-edge Azure technologies to build and manage data pipelines, ensuring seamless integration, transformation, and storage of data from various sources. You will work closely with multiple teams to create a robust data architecture that supports advanced analytics and operational insights.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain a centralized database infrastructure using Azure cloud technologies.
• Build and optimize scalable data pipelines using Azure Data Factory to automate data workflows.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, ensure data quality, and establish best practices.
• Develop and maintain SQL-based solutions for data storage, transformation, and querying.
• Integrate Dataverse with various data sources, ensuring seamless data flow and accessibility.
• Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines to ensure performance and reliability.
• Implement data governance policies to ensure data security, privacy, and compliance.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Data Science or Related field.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience.
• Proven experience as a Data Engineer, with expertise in Azure cloud technologies.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of Azure Data Factory, SQL, and Dataverse.
• Experience with building and managing ETL pipelines and workflows.
• Proficiency in designing relational databases and writing complex SQL queries.
• Experience with data warehousing and data modeling techniques.
• Knowledge of data security and governance best practices.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.
• Knowledge of Microsoft’s government cloud (GCC High).
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
• U.S. Citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with other Azure services such as Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Lake, or Power BI.
• Familiarity with Python, Spark, or other data processing frameworks.
• Previous experience working with large datasets in an enterprise environment.
