Overview

As a Data Analyst you will fulfill a central role in the book of work focused on data strategy, data governance and data risk management. You will be expected to play a key role on expanding and evolving the data analysis, data governance and data risk management program working with public health leaders and multidisciplinary teams to identify opportunities for leveraging public health data to produce actionable insights. 

Responsibilities

  • Support our client in defining and executing a data strategy defining common data standards and exchange agreements that promote consistency, accuracy, and quality of data shared with the public and between relevant health agencies/organizations.
  • Experience with data modeling and analysis (data architecture, data integration, data quality management), data standards and interoperability, data stewardship and governance.
  • Analyze data from internal and external sources to drive the development of data sources, data visualizations (e.g., dashboards), and results to drive evidence-based policies. 
  • Perform data source quality assurance and quality control protocols utilizing operations research tools and quantitative techniques to analyze data and solve complex problems. 
  • Code and develop data models and algorithms to apply to data sets. 
  • Develop processes and tools to monitor and analyze model performance and data accuracy. 
  • Develop recommendations for reporting/metrics/analysis to support appropriate use and integration of data
  • Design and implement standardized procedures for data analysis to ensure consistency and accuracy. 
  • Collaborate in defining strategies for machine learning and data mining to extract valuable insights from large datasets. 
  • Create, deploy, maintain, and refine decision management models to support business decision-making processes. 
  • Assist in analyzing data, writing detailed reports, and authoring peer-reviewed research papers. 
  • Contribute to the development and ongoing maintenance of processes, procedures and/or job-aids, that guide the teams and key supporting resources in their required data management related activities
  • Support leadership in their efforts to provide privacy, protection, use, retention, quality of structured and unstructured data, ensuring compliance with policies, standards, laws and/or regulatory requirements

Partner closely with Director to deliver value-add business results and meet all deliverables coordinating with different functional teams to implement models and monitor outcomes. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a technical discipline or additional FOUR (4) years related experience. 
  • Minimum of TWO (2) years of experience in a professional or academic setting. 
  • Strong problem-solving skills with an emphasis on analysis and product development. 
  • Experience using statistical computer languages (e.g., R, Python, SQL) to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets. 
  • Knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, D3, Amazon QuickSight) 
  • Experience working with data architectures and processing raw datasets. 
  • Ability to create data. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for coordinating across teams. 
  • A drive to learn and master new technologies and techniques. 
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance. 
  • Detail-oriented and ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment with frequently changing priorities meeting deadlines under pressure
  • Consulting and/or government experience a plus

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills:

  • Agile/Scrum experience and associated tools (Confluence, Jira, Kanban)
  • Experience applying technical skills to public health systems is a plus. 
  • Experience with data and code management best practices is a plus: Azure, GitHub, AWS, SQL Server Management Studio, etc.

Pay Range

USD $120,000.00 - USD $130,000.00 /Yr.
