Do you have an eye for detail and a passion for developing innovation solutions? Join our team! As a Data Scientist II at SNC, your fundamental responsibility will be to derive value out of data. You will use skills like advanced data mining to proactively acquire information from various sources. You will process, cleanse, and validate the data integrity of that data and enhance it where required using third party data sources and other techniques. Finally, you will use statistical modeling, machine learning techniques, and ad-hoc analysis to build high quality predictive and prescriptive solutions for the enterprise.

As SNC's corporate team, we provide the company and its business areas with strategic direction and business support spanning executive management, finance and accounting, operations, human resources, legal, IT, information security, facilities, marketing, and communications.

Responsibilities

  • Extract & analyze data from various sources to ensure data integrity between systems.
  • Work with system administrators to maintain data integrity.
  • Data mine to produce analysis, provide recommendations, and communicate with stakeholders.
  • Develop and integrate Statistical Modeling, AI Learning, What-If analysis and other progressive reporting.
  • Leverage Power BI to create user friendly data visualizations.
  • Work with cross functional teams on system implementations, system integrations, and continuous improvements.

Qualifications The Employee Must Have

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field with at least years of relevant experience
  • Higher education may substitute for relevant experience
  • Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of required education
  • Data-oriented personality
  • Applied statistics skills, such as distributions, statistical testing, regression, etc.
  • Understanding of machine learning techniques and algorithms
  • Knowledge of how to collect data from a variety of sources, log files, and more. They then process and clean the data, and use statistical software to analyze it.
  • Ability to communicate and share their insights with technical and nontechnical audiences, including colleagues, managers, and senior leadership.
  • Programming skills: Python building models and Powershell, Machine learning, User Interfaces (UI)
  • Understanding on how to use their findings to make recommendations for business decisions or process changes.
  • Proficiency in using query languages such as MS SQL and/or AWS RDS (PostgreSQL).

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Experience with common data science toolkits, such as R, Weka, NumPy, MatLab, AWS Sagemaker, etc.
  • Proficiency in using query languages such as SQL, Hive, Pig, etc
  • Good scripting and programming skills: Python, PySpark, Scala, R, etc
  • Experience with data visualization tools, such as Power BI, Tableu, etc
  • Experience with AWS Data Warehousing: AWS RDS (PostgreSQL), Redshift
  • Experience with NoSQL databases, such as MongoDB, Cassandra, HBase, Amazon
  • DynamoDB
  • Experience with Supply Chain and Supply Chain processes
  • Experience with Predictive and Forecast analysis 
  • Ability to create algorithms and predictive models 
  • Experience with What if-Analysis

Estimated Starting Salary Range: $94,345.12 - $129,724.54. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors, such as candidates' key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.
