We are seeking an experienced Lead Data Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role is perfect for someone with a passion for leading engineering teams, building collaborative networks, and driving technical excellence. As a technical leader, you will play a pivotal role in enabling our teams to deliver world-class data products that drive our strategic initiatives. You will lead by example and help shape our data platform for the future.

• Data Architecture & Standards: Drive the evolution of our data estate, ensuring alignment with modern standards and practices for data ingestion, processing, and storage.
• Technology Evaluation: Assess and recommend new technologies and tools to enhance our data engineering capabilities.
• Agile Leadership: Contribute to Agile delivery frameworks and lead the implementation of best practices.
• Talent Growth: Play a key role in the recruitment and onboarding of new team members, contributing to the continued growth of the department.

We’re looking for someone with a passion for engineering, leadership, and building scalable, high-quality solutions. You’ll be a proactive, resilient leader who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. To succeed in this role, you’ll need:

• Experience: Proven experience in leading and mentoring high-performance engineering teams.
• Technical Skills: Strong background in Python and ideally PySpark, with experience working with platforms like Databricks.
• Cloud Proficiency: Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and cloud-based data platforms.
• Agile Methodology: Deep understanding of Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, Lean).
• Data Engineering: Experience with structured and semi-structured data, and handling various latencies from batch processing to real-time streaming.
• Communication: Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Leadership: A proactive and resilient leader who can inspire and support team members and align efforts with company goals.
