Senior Data Analyst

Role Type: Perm FTE, Manager Group 4.2
Role Location: Manyata Tech Park, Bangalore
Work Hours: Standard

 

We are seeking a skilled Senior Data Analyst to join our team with a primary focus on reducing non-financial risk. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting root cause analysis, relating data to systems and business processes, and effectively communicating these relationships and the impacts to stakeholders at all levels.

 

The Senior Data Analyst will play a critical role in partnering with our stakeholders, gaining commitment from system and process owners to apply the necessary uplifts and controls to reduce risks identified.

 

This role will be highly analytical; an advocate for change; comfortable with ambiguity and have adaptability to pivot and deliver in alignment with an evolving business environment.

What will your day look like?

  • Reduce non-financial risk by improving processes, systems, and controls.

  • Collaborate with system and process owners for necessary modifications.

  • Prepare and deliver presentations on findings and recommendations.

  • Influence stakeholders to enhance data quality and processes.

  • Work collaboratively across divisions and with partners.

  • Ensure data is managed to meet obligations and achieve business outcomes.

  • Source and analyse data to identify and resolve data quality issues.

  • Address complex business issues using structured and unstructured data.

  • Manage and remediate data quality issues.

  • Support teams in delivering high-quality data outcomes.

  • Lead activities to drive business value with a data focus.

  • Contribute to the strategic evolution of Data Risk.

  • Maintain robust data quality, reference, and master data practices.

  • Support data mapping, cataloguing, and addressing data quality issues.

  • Deliver against milestones and address constraints.

  • Uphold ANZ's core values in all interactions.

What will you bring?


To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

  • 9+ years’ experience as Data Analyst, Data Quality Analyst or Business Analyst.

  • Team player with autonomous work capability.

  • Broad understanding of compliance, operational risk, data quality, and privacy management.

  • Experience in identifying and mitigating non-financial risks.

  • Ability to design and implement effective risk controls.

  • Proficient in SQL and data analysis techniques.

  • Experience in data analysis, modelling, architecture, and engineering.

  • Ability to challenge and reframe data management approaches.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, presentation, and communication skills.

  • Highly collaborative with strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.

  • Proven critical thinking and problem-solving capability.

  • Experience with agile execution and data-driven business case support.

  • Strong relationship-building and collaboration skills.

  • Lean Six Sigma certification or experience (preferred).

  • Experience with data management capabilities (metadata, data lineage, simplification, asset definition, accountability, data lifecycle).
