Analyst - Data Ops

Purpose of the role

To develop business capabilities for Finance through key stages of functional design, data, end-to-end-process and controls, delivery, and functional testing. 

Accountabilities

• Functional Design: leveraging best practice concepts, and in collaboration with Line SMEs, support options analysis and recommendations as part of decision making.
• Data Analysis/Modelling/Governance: design conceptual data model underpinning all phases of the processes, and governance requirements in accordance with GDMS standards and principles.
• End-to-End Process & Controls - development of target process and controls design/documentation and operational runbooks and aligning these components with organisational and role/service model design definitions.   .
• Delivery/Implementation Support: update design/functional requirements throughout the development cycle, and resolve RAIDS related to functional requirements and business processes. Project management for change programmes that have limited technology investment.
• Functional Testing: develop scripts and data to test alignment to requirement definitions, ahead of user testing cycles.

To be successful as an "Analyst Data Ops" you should have experience with:

Basic/ Essential Qualifications:

• Good Communication Skills.
• Knowledge of Financial Services in banking environment.
• Proven ability to adapt to an evolving operating model and to actively participate in its development.
• Should be able to handle multiple stakeholders effectively.
• Proven ability to work under pressure and balance priorities to meet tight deadlines.
• Good Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Working knowledge of SAP/Hyperion will help.

Desirable skillsets/ good to have:

• Work with the team to understand the impact of changes and the other artefacts in the system set up and is able to guide the technology team as well as the business for the pre-emptive remediation of the possible data/functionality loss.  
•  Support the team for close engagement with technology teams to understand any changes and provide operational impact assessment.
• Work with the team leader to act as an interface with the client and to be responsible for completely managing the day-to-day operational functions for the team.
• Identify process gaps and collaborate with the client to formulate solutions.
• Work with the team to resolve issues/disagreements, if any, with the client.
• Ensures compliance with Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) and audit.
• Managing BAU operations, with greater emphasis on a smooth operation of the BAU, Minor-works changes, Accounts attestation and Disputes management.
• Ensures adherence to SLAs (Service Level Agreements).
• Works closely with the team to achieve quantitative and qualitative targets specified by the client.
• Support the team in working closely with the technology and with the business to ensure timely and non-disruptive implementation of the agreed system changes while strictly adhering to the change windows.
• Point of contact with business for live system support for business.
• Ensures audit and operational risks are covered.
• Liaise with Group Functions (Risk/Finance/Treasury) and business clusters.
• Support in managing technical systems relating to finance and accounting.
• Ensure client expectations of operational performance and efficiency are met.
• Work with the team leader to act as an interface with the client and to be responsible for completely managing the day-to-day operational functions for the team.
• Identify process gaps and collaborate with the client to formulate solutions.
• Work with the team to resolve issues/disagreements, if any, with the client.
• Working knowledge of SAP/Hyperion and change management projects using Jira e.g. automations, process re-engineering, enhancements etc.

You may be assessed on the key critical skills relevant for success in role, such as experience with managing BAU operations, with greater emphasis on a smooth operation of the BAU, Minor-works changes. Additional responsibilities will include contributing to the team to from accounts attestation/disputes and also act as the connect between business and support team.  This involves delivering smooth operations, supporting in managing key customers, supporting achieving targeted business metrics and ensuring compliance within the defined SLAs. The role holder will be additionally responsible for supporting maintaining the governance and control framework surrounding RFT Data Operations tools and identifying and driving process improvements as well as job-specific skillsets.
