The Data and Reporting Programmer is a key contributor responsible for quality, timely and cost-efficient execution of all clinical and operational programming aspects of assigned studies or project activities. This role is located in Fort Worth, Texas and a typical day will include:
- Simultaneously creates data validation reports/listings programming efforts for multiple trials in parallel with minimal support. Including requirements analysis, planning and tracking, development of programs and validation of deliverables.
- As needed, contributes to special initiatives and projects including requirements analysis, planning and tracking, development of programs and validation of deliverables.
- Create advanced standard, study, project or global macros
- Comply with company, department and industry standards (e.g., CDISC) and processes, in order to provide quality and on time deliverables required for the creation of analysis datasets.
- Establish and maintain working relationships with team members of assigned studies or project-level activities.
- Effectively communicate the status of deliverables and any risks to Trial Data Manager or Project Manager and supervisor.
- Ensure quality, timely and efficient completion of deliverables. Manage multiple tasks effectively to meet delivery timelines. Seek solutions to programming issues and escalate as needed.
- Develop and maintain automated data pipelines for clinical trials, ensuring efficient ingestion, transformation, and validation of clinical datasets.
- Implement and optimize cloud-based automation for clinical trial reporting using AWS Glue, Lambda, Step Functions, and S3.
- Build and optimize PySpark-based ETL/ELT workflows for large-scale clinical data processing.
- Automate data validation and compliance checks to ensure accuracy and regulatory adherence (GxP, HIPAA, 21 CFR Part 11).
- Develop and maintain interactive dashboards and visualizations for clinical trial monitoring using Tableau, Power BI, or AWS QuickSight.
- Collaborate with clinical data managers, project leads, and leadership to align engineering solutions with study requirements.
- Ensure performance and scalability of AWS-based data processing solutions, optimizing costs and efficiency.
- Maintain version control and CI/CD processes for automated pipelines and visualization tools using Git, Bitbucket, and AWS CodePipeline.

- Efficiency, reliability, and compliance of automated clinical data pipelines.
- Impact and usability of automated reports and visualizations for clinical trials.
- Scalability and cost-effectiveness of AWS-based data solutions.
- Collaboration and responsiveness to clinical study teams’ needs.
Competency Profile:
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Languages: Fluent in English (oral and written).
- Experience: 2+ years of experience in data engineering, clinical trial programming, automation, or visualization.
- Technical Skills:
- Programming & Automation: Strong proficiency in Python, PySpark, and automation for clinical trial data.
- Cloud & Data Engineering: Experience with AWS Glue, Lambda, Step Functions, S3, and Athena.
- Data Transformation & ETL: Hands-on experience with PySpark-based ETL/ELT workflows for clinical data.
- Visualization & Reporting: Expertise in Tableau, Power BI, AWS QuickSight, or similar tools for clinical trial data.
- Regulatory Compliance: Understanding of clinical data standards (CDISC, SDTM, ADaM) and industry regulations (GxP, HIPAA, 21 CFR Part 11).
- Version Control & CI/CD: Familiarity with Git, Bitbucket, and CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment.
