The Sr. Manager of Data Analysis and Visualization will deliver on the various BPA reporting, analytics and visualization initiatives. The individual will own the quality, design and standards related to the Finance BPA dashboards (branded as “FinD”) that are used across the Alcon business, from executives to country management and finance teams. In this role, the individual will manage the visualization team that is spread across various locations. The Sr. Manager will also drive visualization efficiencies and improvements to optimize existing dashboards, and lead support operations for ongoing maintenance activities. Lastly, the individual will work with the business and IT to design solutions for new project implementations. The Sr. Manager should enhance Tableau and other innovative tools and be able to provide guidance and oversight to the Visualization team on how to effectively develop dashboards.

In this role, a typical day will include:

Lead and manage the data analysis and visualization team to deliver actionable insights and data-driven solutions.

  • Work with Global BPA organization to understand business needs and provide analytical solutions in Tableau and Quicksight for management reporting areas, for instance, Sales, GM, P&L, Cash Flow, DSO etc
  • Manage team of BPA resources across various locations
  • Develop robust visualization that is easy for end users to digest that answers critical business questions
  • Ensure data accuracy and integrity by deploying data reconciliation & Validation SOPs
  • Hands-on with Tableau Desktop (dashboard creation, report authoring, and troubleshooting, data source management).
  • Create interactive filters, parameters, and calculations for preparing dashboards and worksheets in Tableau and reports that require minimal to no effort to refresh when new data is available
  • Partner with the team in developing and implementing process improvements for data & reporting teams as needed, leveraging Alteryx or AWS.
  • Work in an agile development environment, where work is developed in 2 week sprints
  • Manage administration tasks to grant access to user and ensure data governance and security
  • Build robust procedures and use Jira and Confluence in Managing projects
  • Utilize Alteryx to prepare, blend, and analyze large datasets from multiple sources.
  • Design, develop, and maintain interactive Tableau dashboards to communicate findings to stakeholders effectively.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify data requirements and ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Provide strategic recommendations based on data analysis to drive business decisions and optimize performance.
  • Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and security in all analysis and reporting activities.
  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices in data analysis and visualization.
  • Mentor and train team members on the use of Alteryx and Tableau tool

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Computer Science or a related field. Tableau Certification is a must.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in data analysis
  • Proficiency in Alteryx, Tableau and Quicksight, with a deep understanding of their functionalities and best practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience in leading and developing high-performing teams.
  • Knowledge of SQL and other data manipulation languages is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
