About the Role

Monks is seeking an experienced Application Solution Architect to lead the design, development, and implementation of scalable and high-performing software applications. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in software architecture, cloud computing, microservices, and modern application development methodologies. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the alignment of business requirements with technical solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Pre-sales support and deal stage acceleration (Technical Requirements gathering, Architecture Designs and concepts, Client technology impact assessments, Solution designs, ROI and Value Impact) 
  • Working closely with Sales, Delivery and Channel partners to move clients through our deal funnel. 
  • Design and develop scalable, resilient, and secure application architectures.
  • Define architectural standards and best practices for application development.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and design solutions.
  • Guide development teams in implementing software design patterns and frameworks.
  • Lead the adoption of microservices, cloud-native, and serverless architectures.
  • Ensure seamless integration between applications, APIs, and third-party services.
  • Implement DevOps practices to support CI/CD pipelines and automation.
  • Oversee performance optimization and troubleshooting of applications.
  • Maintain security best practices and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Document architecture designs, guidelines, and technical decisions.

About You

The essentials:

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • 15+ years of experience in application architecture and software development.
  • Strong proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI) and modern application frameworks.
  • Expertise in microservices, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and serverless technologies.
  • Hands-on experience with programming languages such as Java, Python, C#, or JavaScript.
  • Knowledge of API design, RESTful services, and GraphQL.
  • Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (Temporal).
  • Experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.

Not a must, but a plus:

  • Certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect, or TOGAF are a plus.

Monks has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what Monks may pay for the position at the time of posting. Monks may ultimately pay more or less than the posted compensation range. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on job-related factors, but not based on a candidate’s sex or any other protected status.

 

Salary Range$150,000—$200,000 USD
