The role 

Valtech is looking for a talented and experienced Senior Business Data Analyst to join our Global Data & Analytics team. As a Senior Business Data Analyst, you will play a key role in transforming data into actionable insights that drive business strategies. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and maintain data systems and analytics processes. This is a critical position in supporting decision-making and improving business performance across Valtech's diverse client portfolio. 

Role responsibilities 

Data Product Implementation & Development 

  • Act as Product Owner to guide data product development, ensuring alignment with business needs and global standards.
  • Work with engineering teams to ensure the necessary data infrastructure and pipelines are in place for effective analysis. 
  • Develop and maintain data models to improve reporting accuracy.
  • Define KPIs and success metrics to measure product performance and business impact. 

Client Advisory & Strategy 

  • Advise stakeholders on adopting data strategies to meet business goals.
  • Design multi-phased roadmaps for clients to drive data initiatives.
  • Support data strategy definition for Valtech data products, helping clients uncover insights to drive business value. 

Product Strategy & Planning 

  • Create high-level user stories and roadmaps aligned with business priorities.
  • Gather requirements from users and stakeholders to inform future data projects. 

Project Planning & Development 

  • Collaborate with teams to develop scalable data solutions for enterprise clients.
  • Guide data architecture, process mapping, and migration strategies to improve data efficiency and quality. 

Data Visualization, Storytelling & Insights 

  • Design and develop interactive dashboards and reports that effectively communicate key insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Use data visualization best practices to transform complex datasets into clear, actionable insights, telling a compelling story that supports business decision-making.
  • Ensure the visual presentation of data is intuitive and enables quick understanding for business leaders and clients. 

Advanced Requirements Gathering & Solution Design 

  • Drive in-depth analysis of business needs and translate them into data product solutions.
  • Conduct workshops with stakeholders to define AI-driven opportunities. 

Data Governance & Quality 

  • Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and security across all reports and analytics processes.
  • Adhere to data governance frameworks and standards. 

Collaboration & Leadership 

  • Work cross-functionally to deliver tailored analytics solutions.
  • Mentor junior analysts and communicate complex concepts to stakeholders in a business-friendly manner.
  • Assist team members in resolving conflicts with users or internal issues. 

Minimum qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Data Analyst or in a similar data-driven role, preferably within a consultancy or enterprise environment.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and data manipulation.  
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar.  
  • Familiarity with scripting languages like Python or R for data analysis.  
  • Experience with cloud platforms Azure on Fabric and big data tools is a plus.  
  • Knowledge of data warehousing, ETL processes, and data pipelines.
  • Strong ability to analyze and interpret complex data, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Understanding of business operations and the ability to translate data into actionable business insights.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex business problems using data-driven approaches.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.  
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present data findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.  
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong stakeholder management and leadership skills.
  • Ability to translate complex data analytics concepts into strategic business recommendations. 

Preferred qualifications 

  • Experience in Software Development Life Cycle, Operations, Business Transformation, Change Management
  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, Business, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
